The sun's warmth was sticking to my bearskin. Looking out of the window at the orange and pink hue of the sky. I turned the page of my book and put on my headphones. They are the only escape from my cruel reality. The nurse came in with my daily medication. It always has the same taste. Tastes of rotten apple and caramel.
" Docter gray? " I asked very nervously" Yes, Katherine?" "Well, I was wondering when I was going to be able to leave." Doctor Gray looked at my chart. " Hmm, well we need to see if the tumor comes back, Sadly if it does you will need another surgery. The hospital and I have decided to observe you for at least a year." "oh, " I said sadly. Docter Gray patted me on the back " Sorry kiddo"
I walked into the bathroom with my IV stand. I looked in the cabinet grabbed the shampoo and body wash. Took out the needle that was in my forearm, and got into the shower. Letting the hot water run down my body I sat down in the corner of the shower. Ran my hands through my hair. A chunk of hair fell out into my hand due to chemotherapy. Wrapped my hands around my knees. I let my eyes fill with tears for the first time I didn't hold them back, I let them fall. Falling fast through the air. Smashing on the shower floor like a vase getting knocked off of the table. The sun was shining through the window hitting the water creating a rainbow.
I looked up as the rainbow was shining, stuck my hand in the water, and waved it around slowly so the rainbow stayed on my hand. I stared at the rainbow and the strangest thing happened, My tears stopped. I don't really remember it that well all I can remember is standing up getting dressed and walking out of my hospital room. running down the street and going to my school. I walked in and the whispers started this time not really mean things but, they were concerned about me.
I walked into Bellas's class and grabbed her arm and walked her out of the classroom. " Katherine what's going-" Then I kissed her. " Bella, I know you might not feel the same but I'm in Love with you!" Bella stares at me in shock " The only reason I am telling you this is that my tumor might come back" "Kather-" " I can't say the hospital is looking for me"
As I was walking out of the door, Bella grabbed my arm flipped me around, and kissed me "I.. Love you...too"
