Pic above is the entrance of the castle, where Aurora is standing throughout this chapter.

Aurora's P.O.V

I have been standing here for the last half an hour, just greeting guests.

Do you understand how frustrating this is?

No. No, you don't.

This is what you would call pure torture. I haven't even met one decent person yet! Some of these guests, I don't even understand why Father invited them. Probably to keep the peace with other kingdoms. But still! I'm the one who has to give a fake smile and pretend like I'm oh-so-delighted-to-have-you-here. I'm the one who has to endure the flirty smiles of princes and the glares of pampered princesses. I mean, what the hell?! I only just met these girls, and they're already giving me death stares. What have I ever done to them?

Well, I guess I am the sister of the 'famous, handsome princes', Damion and Alex. Maybe that's why other girls hate me so much. They're just jea--

The sound of crunching gravel shook me out of my thoughts. I pushed myself off the doorpost I was leaning on, and saw a sleek black limo emerging from the corner of the driveway.

I looked down at my clipboard and saw only two more boxes to tick off.

Two more families, which means just one more after these people. Phew.

I am so going to kill Alex after this.

I fiddled with my pen awkwardly, waiting for the family to come out.

I bet Damien and Alex have finished, and are just relaxing right now. This is so irritating.

Hearing a car door open, I looked up and saw the chauffeur holding the door as the King and Queen stepped out. Following them was a prince and two princesses who I assumed were twins.

I felt a weird feeling swirl within my stomach.

Damn, just when I thought I'd gotten over being nervous.

As the King and Queen approached, I straightened my posture and prepared my sweetest smile.

"Princess Aurora, I assume. It is lovely to finally meet you, I'm King Edwin of the New Sand Isles, this is my wife, Bethanie."

Bethanie gave a small wave; I replied with a pleasant smile.

"These are my children," King Edwin continued, gesturing toward the three people beside him, "The crown prince Hayden, and the twins, Princess Madeline and Adeline."

I bit my cheek to keep myself from laughing.

I get that they're twins, but why would you name them so similarly?

I banished my thoughts and waved at them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Your Majes—"

"Oh don't worry, you can call me King Edwin."

"Alright, well um, there will be butlers to lead you to your rooms once you make your way inside. When you get bored of being inside, the Royal Gardens are just beyond that gate, feel free to take a stroll. I hope you enjoy your stay here!"

I moved to the right to let them in, as a butler came to take their things from the limo.

The King and Queen headed inside, and I assumed the rest would follow.

"Would you mind if we go to the gardens right now?"

The voice belonged to one of the twins, but I couldn't figure out which one. I looked at the two of them, confusion clearly written on my face.
