(Pic of the lounge above)

Aurora's P.O.V.

I walked along the corridor aimlessly. Where should I even go?

Where do people normally...be?

Right, the lounge. I quickened my pace, and reached the doors leading to the lounging area.

As I reached the double doors, I stood and exhaled shakily.

Don't chicken out, Aurora. Don't chicken out. Don't chi--

"Argh, I can't do this," I muttered, shaking my head in frustration. "Why can't--"

My complaints were cut short with the sound of the doors opening.

Out of them emerged Prince Hayden, Madeline's brother, I believe. He stopped suddenly, and just saved us from crashing into each other.

My eyes widened in surprise. "Prince Hayden?"

He shook his head. "Call me Hayden."

"Right," I said smiling. "Oh, I am so sorry, am I in the way?"

"No, of course not," He replied, clearly amused.

I smiled nervously.

"You're Princess Aurora, right?" He suggested.

"Yes, but call me Aurora."

He nodded, then gestured toward the doors behind him, raising an eyebrow.

He wants to talk.

I nodded, not knowing what to say.

He held the door as I walked in, then followed.

There were a good many people in the lounge, seated around tables on the turqoise and cream sofas. Most of them were princes.

'Well, well, how lucky for me,' I thought sarcastically.

"Would you like a drink?" Hayden asked, while getting himself a glass.

"I'm fine, thank you though," I replied, grateful for the offer.

He nodded and spoke again.

"So, what are you doing around here?"

'I came to talk to random boys and try and flirt with them because I need an escort. Totally normal.'

Is what I'd like to say.

"Oh, I just came to see how everyone is doing," I said with a smile.

He nodded again.

Gosh, this is getting awkward. I need to say something.

"So I was wondering, what is it like living with twins?"

Oh my gosh, Aurora, that was so random, what is wrong with you?

He chuckled and replied,

"It can be extremely irritating, especially in the way they get into so many arguments all the time. But mostly, they mind their own businesses, so.."

I laughed. "I see."

"So, do you have a partner for the ball?" He asked.

"Oh, haha, I actually haven't, yet. I know most girls have already found theirs', but...I haven't," I replied, laughing awkwardly.

"Oh!" He said, clearly surprised, "Me, too."

I nodded.

I don't know what to say. Is he going to ask me?

"Well, this was fun, but I have somewhere to be, sorry!" He said, apologetically.

"Oh, that's alright! See you."

***
I went out into the balcony and let out a sigh.

'It's been an hour and I still haven't found an escort. Why—'

"Princess?"

'Oh, what is it with people interrupting my thoughts these days?! Just leave me alone, for heaven's sake!'

"Princess...?"

I turned around.

"Oh, hey Gavin!"

"Hey...are you okay? You look a bit bothered."

"Oh it's nothing, I just, um, wanted some fresh air..."

"I see. I suppose you want me gone then?" He asked, chuckling.

"No, no, of course not!"

He smiled, a dimple appearing on his cheek.

"Do you want to go for a stroll in the gardens?" He asked.

"Sure!"

******

I'm back. After a really long time.
Hopefully I don't disappear again..

How are you guys? How was ur day?

I hope it was good, mine was..weird actually. When I was walking home from school yesterday with my best friend, there were 2 boys having a fight in the middle of the road and a teacher had to come and split them up. 😂 so that was...nice. (I'm being sarcastic)

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, the next one's coming out really soon, but it's kinda short so don't get too excited XD

I bid you farewell, and good morning/afternoon/evening/night !
