"Cobra Kai Never Dies"

Y/N POV

Sensei and I picked Miguel up and carried him to his car. I was in tears as we brought him home. I've never seen Miguel hurt this bad before, it scared me. The whole drive home no one dared to say anything. Sensei carried him to the door as I stood next to him. He knocked on the door and Mom answered it. As soon as she saw him, she started sobbing. I couldn't blame her I was in tears too. She started yelling at Sensei saying, I don't want you ever coming near my kids again, do you understand me?" I was so caught up with Miguel that I didn't even process what she was saying. The Sensei answered, "I'm sorry. I should never have gotten involved." As he's walking out the door Miguel yells, "No! Cobra Kai never dies!" That was when it hit me that Mom just told Sensei to stay away from us. 

We stayed up all night, taking care of Miguel. It was morning now and we had changed into regular clothes. Mom came over with an ice pack and told Miguel to hold it on his ribs. Mom finally asked the question I knew was coming. "Miggy, why don't you tell me who did this? I'll call the school. They can protect you." Miguel then said exactly what we were both thinking, "It will only make things worse Mama." "Worse than this," Mom asks, gesturing to Miguel's beat up form. I answer this time and say, "Yes. If we just had more lessons, then maybe we'll-" "No!" Mom cuts me off. Miguel speaks up to defend Sensei, "It's not Sensei Lawrence's fault. I just...I just wasn't ready." I knew that whatever we said wouldn't convince Mom, but we still had to try. "No. No more karate, " Mom ends it. Grandma walks into the room and to my surprise she says, "Carmen, what is the problem here? They found something they like to do." "Thank you." Miguel and I say together. "Look at him, " Mom tells Grandma. "I see him! What they need is more practice, right? Keep your hands up, protect your head!" Grandma tells us waving her hands in front of her face. "Mama, this man is a bad influence," Mom tells Grandma. "He is not. You don't know him," Miguel says. "I know he's a loser, " Mom says. "He is not a loser. If you knew him, you'd see he's a great man," Miguel finishes. I high five Miguel and we get up and wait for Sensei outside.We were sitting on the benches when Sensei came out of his apartment. "Hey, Sensei, our Mom says we can't train with you anymore, but we had this idea that maybe if we went to the dojo before-" I started to say before Sensei cut me off. "You don't get it, kids. There is no dojo. I'm closing it up. It's over." Miguel protests, "What about us? We-we need you." Sensei turns and starts to walk away saying, "Sorry, kids. I gotta go." 

Later that day at school, we were sitting in the library getting some of our work done. Miguel and I had just finished telling Demetri and Eli what happened after  the dance when Demetri asks, "So, that's it? No more karate?" "I guess so," Miguel answers sadly. "It's probably for the best. I was starting to boost your confidence," Demetri says trying to cheer us up. I, confused as ever, ask, "Isn't that a good thing?" "No. What has confidence gotten anybody besides a black eye and their backpack thrown in the trash?" Demetri says in a duh tone. Eli, tries to make Miguel feel better by telling him, "Well, I thought it was kind of cool how you stood up to Kyler." "Are you insane? Let me ask you. What is the best superpower anyone could have?" Demetri asks Miguel. "Super strength, " he answers. "Wrong. Invisibility. A distant second would be super speed to run away fast, " Demetri tells us. "Run away from who?" I hear Kyler say next to my head. We all jump up packing our stuff as Miguel says, "We were just leaving." I turn around to see that Kyler grabbed Eli and turned him around asking, "Hey, where you going? Oh, look at this freak. What kind of girl would ever kiss that shit?" I would, I think to myself. "You would?" Crap. I said that out loud. Don't back down y/n. "Yeah, what of it?" "Well, your way to pretty to be hanging out with these losers, " Kyler says grabbing my arm. "Leave her alone, Kyler," Miguel says. Kyler shoves me over to Eli and Demetri and says, "What'd you say? You haven't had enough 'Rhea? Huh?" They shove him when he doesn't say anything and tells him, "Yeah. Get the hell out of here, man." We walk out and wait for Demetri, who comes out with his backpack covered in yogurt. After school we walk out to get on the bus. We hear a car horn honking, but ignore it until we hear, "Miggy! y/n/n!" We turn around and walk with our heads down to the car. We get in and mom says, "Surprise! I changed my shift so we can go to the movies and see that new Spider-Man." I sigh and tell her, "Yeah. And to keep us away from karate." "Come on. You can put the M&M's in the popcorn," She tells us. "We just wanna go home," Miguel tells Mom. "Ok. We'll go home," Mom says sadly.

Miguel and I were sitting on the couch watching TV when Mom comes over and sits down with us. "Hey, your Sensei came by last night and I've been doing a lot of thinking," She tells us. We both sit up hopeful she'll let us train again. "I've decided you can train again," she tells us. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I yell jumping up and hugging her. Miguel gets up and hugs her too. "Come on, we have some training to catch up on," I tell Miguel with a huge smile on my face. We go to the dojo and walk inside as Sensei walks out of his office. "Our Mom says we can train again," Miguel tells him. "She did?" Sensei asks surprised. "Yeah. I mean if we still have the dojo," I tell him. "We do for now. But I need to know, are you ready to take things to the next level?" We eagerly nod and say in unison, "Yes, Sensei." "You got your ass kicked because you didn't have any defense, so I'm gonna teach you the best defense that you can know. And the best defense...Hai! Is more offense." Sensei tells us with a punch.
