Y/N POV
It had been a few days since Coyote Creek and I didn't know how to approach Miguel. I didn't know how to talk to him about what happened between him and Hawk. When he finished Hawk, there was something in his expression that I couldn't read. Something that I didn't like. It didn't look Miguel, and that scared me. I also have to have a separate conversation with Hawk about the Medal of Honor. Life is stressful right now.
Miguel had left earlier for the dojo, since I was taking longer to get ready. On my way there, I saw Hawk walking to the dojo too. I jogged up next to him and said, "Hey you." He smiled over at me and kissed my cheek. I looked down and smiled to myself. I looked back up at him, my smile fading away as I said seriously, "Look, we need to talk." He stopped dead in his tracks and looked at me. His expression was worried, and slightly guilty. "W-what about?" He asked nervously. I sighed and looked him in the eyes before saying, "I need you to be honest with me, okay. Did you take the Medal of Honor?" He looked down and I immediatley knew that my assumptions were correct. "Yeah," he said quietly. I sighed and said, "I thought we talked about this." He looked back up at me and I saw his eyes had become glassy. We stood there in silence before Hawk suddenly asked, "Are you gonna breakup with me?" I stared at him for a moment before my brain processed the question and I cupped his cheek and made him look me in the eyes. I softly told him, "Hey, we're in this together. I'm here, forever and always." He held out his pinkie finger and asked, "Promise?" I smiled slightly and linked my fingers with his saying, "Promise."
After our conversation we walked to the dojo together hand in hand. When we entered everyone was stretching already and quickly took off my shoes as Miguel walked over to us. He walked over to Hawk and I and asked, "Hey, can I talk to Hawk for a minute?" I nodded and got on my toes giving Hawk a kiss on the cheek and walking away to join Tory in stretching. I sat down and watched them for a moment as the did a handshake and I knew that all was well between them. Sensei came in a minute later and we all stood up as he said, "Everybody, fall in." We all got in rows and waited patiently for Sensei to give us instructions. "Today, we'll be learning one of the most important lessons a Cobra Kai could ever know," he begins before Hawk interrupts. "Where's Sensei Kreese?" He asked. It was then that I noticed that Sensei Kreese, was in fact, not here. Stingray speaks up and says, "Yeah. Shouldn't we wait for the sensei emeritus before we get going?" When Sensei says nothing, he continues, "Or not." Sensei looks around and answers, "Mr. Kreese will no longer be joining us." Hawk glances to Miguel and then back at me with a confused look. I just shrug my shoulders, looking just as confused as he was. Everyone begins murmuring until Sensei continues, "I made a promise when I became your sensei. To always look out for your best interest. Despite how hard this may be for all of us, he didn't have our best interest at heart. John Kreese may have founded Cobra Kai, but he no longer represents what this dojo stands for. His Cobra Kai was old and outdated. He refused to move forward. What happens when we do that, Mr. Diaz?" Miguel answers, "You get stuck like cement." "Exactly. To be a great fighter, you gotta learn to adapt. This creed on the wall...follow it to the letter, it'll make you strong. It'll make you formidable. It will also make you an asshole. 'Cause that's just black paint on a white wall. But life's not black and white. More often than not, it's gray. And it's in those gray areas where Johnny Lawrence's Cobra Kai...sometimes shows mercy," Sensei says with heart. I smile slightly feeling that this is right. This feels like Cobra Kai. "Doesn't mean that you can't be badass. It's still a requirement. But you have to learn to think, not just with your gut...or your fists...but to really use...this," he continues pointing to his head. He looks around at us before turning around and saying, "Which leads me to today's lesson." He walks over and picks up a board before breaking it with his head. We all look at him in amazement, some kids chuckling. "Headbutting," He tells us. We're all smiling with excitement, ready to learn this new skill. "Grab a partner," he tells us. Everyone gets a partner and I end up with Hawk. I smirk at him and say, "Give it your best shot." He looks slightly conflicted before leaning forward and whispering, "I don't think I can headbutt you." I chuckle, thinking it was a joke before looking over and seeing his serious face. I stop laughing, but my grin stays on my face. "You're serious...okay. Just..do it. I'll be fine." He looks into my eyes before sighing and headbutting me. I fall backwards and groan as I rub my head. He immediatley drops to my side asking worriedly, "Are you okay? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." I look at him in the eyes with a serious expression before breaking into a grin. He looks at me like I'm crazy for a second before asking, "Why are you smiling?" I just jump up saying, "Because it's cute when you worry about me." He stands up and just shakes his head at me with a grin before Miguel comes and drags me away into Sensei's back room. I watch Hawk with what I can only assume is what a love sick puppy looks like. After Miguel reaches Sensei he begins telling him, "Hey, Sensei." I snap out of my trance like state as Sensei tells him, "Just tuck in your chin and aim for the the nose with the crown of your head. It's not that hard. Miguel answers, " No, it's not about headbutting. I think I got that down. Kt's about Sensei Kreese." "What about him?" Sensei asks him. Miguel continues, "I know he was your friend, so if you want to talk..." Sensei answers you don't have to worry about me. Besides, you should be focused on your girlfriend and boyfriend." I just smile to myself and look down as Miguel asks, "You know about that?" Sensei answers instantly, "I'm not blind. They're all touchy feely with each other." He says the last part gesturing to me. My eyes widen slightly, thinking about how he's seen us being touchy with each other. "Just don't get distracted," he continues. We both nod, me giving a quiet, "Yeah." He continues with a slight smirk saying, "You can play 'hide the plantain' on your own time. But in class, I need you both focused." I blush profusely at his statement as Miguel says with embarrassment , "Yes, Sensei. What about you? Do you have any, uh..." I cover my face with my hands and mutter an, "Oh my God." Sensei answers, "Don't worry about me, all right? I do just fine." With my hands still over my face I say," No, nope. I should leave." As I'm about to walk away, Miguel grabs my arm and pulls me back saying, "Ok. If you wanted too, we could set you up on an app. That's how our Mom found her boyfriend." I roll my eyes at the mention of him, I don'y know what it is, but I don't trust him. Sensei then asks, "Yeah, how's that going?" I open my mouth to voice my concerns, but Miguel covers my mouth with his hand and says, "It's going well. She's had some pretty bad luck with guys, so it's nice to see her happy." I sigh knowing that Mom is happy and that shouldn't mess it up. Miguel takes his hand off my mouth as Sensei says, "That's good. I'm glad to hear that. So, uh...all right, so what's the deal with this app thing?" Miguel and I smirk and look at each other.
