By the time he reached the doors of the castle, Titus and Roger were bombarding him with questions.
"How did it go? Are you alright?" Titus.
"Even though the plan failed, you still have to clean my armour." Roger.
"What do you mean the plan failed?" Alfred asked. "I thought it went great."
"We got busted." Titus said. "I told you, King Benjamin finds out about everything."
"It went good. I'll explain everything to you later. Right now, I just need to talk to Benjamin."
"Good luck. He's angry." Roger warned.
"Figures. I have another plan."
"Another one?" Titus asked, annoyed. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
"Like I said, I'll explain later. Thank you for helping though."
He walked to Benjamin's door and knocked.
"Get in here, Alfred."
"How did you know it was me?" He asked.
"Sit." Benjamin ordered.
Alfred took a seat reluctantly.
"I see you've met my brother, Nicholas." He said.
"I did."
"And?"
"He wants to talk to you." Alfred lied.
Technically, it wasn't a lie but at the same time it was. He just figured that Nicholas would want to talk to Benjamin.
"Does he now?" Benjamin raised an eyebrow.
"Yes."
Benjamin stared hard this time. Probably trying it detect a lie in him. He hoped that he couldn't see straight through him.
"Nicholas is more than a brother to me. He's my best friend."
"Please, talk to him. At least not for me but for your people."
"I can't. That's the problem."
"Well, do you have any other solution?"
"No, but-"
"Then talk to him." Alfred interrupted. "We meet at the Black Line tomorrow. Come with me."
"Why would I talk to the brother who sent an attack on my kingdom?"
"Just hear him out."
"I better get something good out of your plan."
"How did you know?"
"I know everything."
"I know something you don't."
"Yeah? And what's that?" Benjamin crossed his arms.
"That you'll believe me when I say that it's not the Idyllic Kingdom sending the attacks."
"I don't believe you." He said, getting up.
"Please. Just go through with my plan."
"Fine. You've got one chance."
He didn't know what would happen tomorrow. How well his plan might go. All he knows is that he needs the two to talk and do it fast.
