tommy sat on the skatepark bench in the cold rain, staring at the lamppost. someone sat next to him, a female with black hair and blue eyes. she stared at the light with him, before speaking. "you okay there blondie?"

"hmm?" he hummed, snapping back into reality. "i am, just needed a night time walk."

"ah okay," she scrunched up her nose, then got up and held out her hand, long board between her right arm and side. "let me take you somewhere."

he looked at her and took her hand. she took him to the familiar candy shop and racked her knuckles on the door. "ayo! lex! let me in," she called out to the non-binary who owned the shop.

"delilah," they smiled, letting her and tommy in. "what brings you to the shop? you're supposed to be at the-"

"hush," she slipped them five pounds. "can i get my usual?" she turned to her new friend. "you want anything?"

"im good," he studied the black haired girl who was given a pound of lollies.

"youre the best lex," she winked at her friend, who shook their head. "c'mon, let's go." she led the blond streamer to the next destination. he followed her to another park and he noticed the rain stopped. tommy watched as delilah stopped by a fountain and sat on the fountains edge, tapping it lightly, a gesture for him to sit.

"tell me about yourself stranger, after all, you did follow me to my friend's shop with a bit of trust," she winked at him, handing him a lolly that he took.

"my names tommy," he stuck the lolly in his mouth. "why bubblegum?"

"it seems like you," she smiled, unwrapping one of the sweets and stuck it her mouth. "my names delilah. whats your favorite color?"

"red, yours?"

"steel grey."

"hobbies?"

"long boarding and uno."

"interesting choices. minecraft and youtube."

"oh c'mon, youtube isn't a personality," she smirked jokingly. he smirked back.

"fine then, filming." he liked this fuzzy feeling, one of just getting to know someone for the fun of it, an unknown path being used for the first time.

"you're going to college for it i assume, smart man," she laughed.

"im guessing youre not?"

"gods i wish but i have a lot on my mind right now. i want to explore the uk."

"really?"

"its been my dream," she moves her long board up and down the pebbled pathway with her foot. tommys phone starts to buzz in his pocket but the familiar ringtone makes him ignore it. "you just going to ignore that?"

"its my mates, they probably want to play minecraft," he told her, checking his phone, seeing the missed discord call. she laughed and shook her head, causing him to smile. "you have a phone?"

she nods, "pay for it and everything but i prefer sending letters than texts." she smiled and watched tommy put his phone back in his pocket.

"whens your birthday?"

"april ninth, oh-four," he smirked.

"im afraid im older than you by one year and a day," she smirked, causing his prideful smile to turn into giggles.

"why is everyone older than me?!" he jokingly whined.

"maybe youre just young like that," she joked, causing him to laugh again. another ringtone filled the silence after tommys laugh and he checked his phone.

"its my mum," he answered it and soon hung up. "she needs me to come home." delilah sighed and checked the time, 23:56.

"i have to go back to my own place," she clicked her tongue and tommy sloppily wrote down his address and number. she smiled at the gesture as he put the pen back into his pocket.

"call me anytime okay? and write me a letter," he smiled and got off of the fountain, leaving her alone. delilah picked up the lolly wrapper and carefully placed it in her jacket pocket.
