A Bittersweet Dream

"where am I?" Emma got out of the bed she was lying on. She wasn't that familiar with the room she was in, there were many beds, but there was no one except her. The floor was mad of wood and the windows were sealed.

Emma felt something wrapped around her head. (bandages?) she thought to herself as she caressed it gently, (what happened?) she stood there confused, trying to remember anything.

But it was all useless...

Emma sighed defeated. The only thing she can do is to get out of the room and see if she can get any clues at least of her location.

It seemed like she was in a house. It had bedrooms, a big kitchen, big bathroom, a huge dining room and many more rooms. There were so many chairs and everything was in double digits.

As if it was an orphanage.

The thing that Emma didn't understand that no one was there despite the big house she was in, but she knew that at least someone was there. She can't bandage herself in her sleep anyway.

"oh! you're awake honey!" a voice echoed through the room but Emma couldn't tell where it is from, but suddenly she was hugged by a woman. A little taller than her, she wore a dress that looked like a maid costume, she had a pitch black hair tied firmly and beautiful purple eyes.

"huh?" Emma got even more confused though she unconsciously hugged the woman back. Even though the hug was short, she weirdly felt at ease being with the woman.

"how are you feeling?" the woman asked Emma but she still stood speechless for a while.

"what happened? Where-"

"you fell down the tree and hurt your head, you don't remember?"

"uh- no..."

"Don't worry dear, let's get out and play with your other siblings!"

The woman took Emma's hand in hers and lead her out of the house where everyone was playing outside.

"where were you?"

"I was in the garden taking care of the flowers we planted"

Emma put her hand on her head as if she's trying to remember where she saw the woman in front of her. She took a glance at the kids that were playing. They are her siblings indeed.

But who is she?

The woman let go of her hand and went to carry a baby that fell on the ground.

"Emma's awake!"

"Emma!"

The kids gathered around Emma and some kids hugged her. Being thankful that she is awake. She smiled at them and reassured them that she's fine.

"how are you feeling?" Ray spoke after Emma rested under a tree.

"a bit dizzy" Emma replied after taking a look at the scenery of the forest. Grass filling the sight, tall trees with birds chirping happily. It was a paradise.

"want to play with us, Emma?" sherry asked her as she carried a ball in her hands.

"no she can't! She should rest because she is dizzy!" Phil hugged Emma and she couldn't help but smile at them.

"I'm sorry, I don't feel like playing today" the kids nodded and sprinted out of sight to play in the forest.

"what happened to me?" Emma asked Norman who was sitting beside her.

"you fell off a long tree and hit your head, you don't remember?"

"you were dead set on climbing it up even though we warned you not to... Idiot"
