➵ To keep it simple, Noel is well off for money. He's not as rich as the royals of course but he's definitely rich due to his job. Why? Not only is he the chief soldier of France, but he does all the dirty work too, no questions asked. He knows the drill and he is paid well for the horrible duties has seen through. He is loyal so they have his silence anyway however silencing him with an even better pay naturally came along too... He is educated and well spoken however he was never the type of kid to read a book growing up. He didn't have the best education but he had some opportunities however, he has always struggled with reading. He can read simple letters which he got better at through his job but something like a book is way too complex for him. He's very embarrassed by the fact that he cannot read and write as well as he should be able to, he just didn't pick it up as well growing up for some reason that he doesn't understand.
