He's mainly focused on himself and his own problems. He doesn't have much regard for others, that doesn't mean he isn't kind to them, but he just cares more for himself. He knows he needs to look out for himself and that's exactly what he does.
Art doesn't see the problem in this. He thinks putting his own goals above others is just smart, and self preserving in a way.
He cares for others but he has learnt that in this world, he needs to put his own needs before anyone else's. Living with regrets is not something he wants.

• STUBBORN
Fool him once, shame on you. That's it. No fooling him twice. He can be incredibly unforgiving. He's stubborn and if someone manages to betray his trust, he won't make the mistake of trusting them again.
He doesn't like being made a fool of.
Being stubborn is a trait he inherited from his mother. He can be hesitant to trust so if someone breaks that he can be unreasonably unforgiving.
Changing his mind on something takes a lot and if someone ruins their relationship with him, they would have to mean a LOT for him to really forgive them.

• CALCULATING/EXTREMELY SMART
He is usually the top of his classes when it comes to school work, he knows he could have a bright future ahead of him. He does want a decent future and a job that he enjoys and that pays well, hence why he studies more than most.
Art wouldn't be described as a nerd, he doesn't fit the stereotypes however he studies as much as one. If anyone needs him on a quiet day, the chances of him being in the library are high.
As much as he loves to study, he also loves a good prank and his calculating nature makes him great with plans.
This was probably why he was sorted in Ravenclaw, unlike both his parents who were sorted into Gryffindor. He has a daring side so it took the Sorting Hat a moment to decide, but overall his brains sorted him into Ravenclaw. He's incredibly witty.
