Time skip

"I'm going out for a smoke do you want to come" Rayne asks

"Sure" Rayne takes out a pack of cigarettes and hands one to snape. While walking back Rayne hears some noises

"Sev"

"Yeah"

"Did you hear that"

"Yea"

"Hi little girl," a spine chilling voice says

Rayne turns around and sees someone she knows too well. Someone who ruined her best friend's life Fenrir Greyback. Fenrir Greyback is a werewolf notorious for his savagery and preference for attacking children. He is a leader in his community and strived to infect as many people as possible with lycanthropy, hoping to build an army strong enough to eventually take over the wizarding community. Rayne snapped out of her thought when she hears Severus scream

"Rayne move" but before she has time to shift into her anagram she sees Greyback swing at her. She closes her eyes ready for impact. She instead feels someone grab her too scared to see that Greyback will be the one holding her in his possession. She feels warm liquid going down her face she assumes to be blood and a body on top of hers that's when it hits her Severus.

"You stupid boy"

Rayne looks up to see Severus' arms shielding her protecting her from Greyback. She notices she has blood all over her school blouse but she starts to panic when she realizes it's not hers. She throws a spell at Greyback giving her just enough time to get out from under Severus and sees him unconscious with three slashes across his chest and barely breathing. At that moment she knew that she was going to protect him with her life as he would do for her. She shifted into a panther (she is registered) and when Greyback was about to go after him she lunged and scratched him first. Before she knows it she is now in a fight with Greyback taking no time to think she roars loud enough to get her best friend Lily's attention who is patrolling the grounds. She sees Snape and recognizes her best friend's form and waste no time to go get help. Meanwhile, Rayne is still fighting greyback and is making him retreat back into the woods and making sure to not be able to get close to her unconscious lover.

Lily POV

I hear a roar. I look out and see Snape on the ground unconscious and bloody and see Rayne?! I swear their girl is going to be the death of me. Wait a minute I realize what's happening once I see Greyback. I run into the halls I spot the teacher and the marauders

HELP HELP!!!! I scream while tears are running down my face greyback attacked Snape and he's unconscious and Rayne is fighting him in her panther form with her life. I don't know how much longer she can hold.

Remus's face drops so does everyone else's and the teachers run outside. I showed them where they were. My heart stops, Snape is there and blood is everywhere but Greyback and RAYNE are missing and all is left of hers is a pack of cigarettes and a muggle lighter. I turn around and James hugs me and tells me it is going to be okay when in reality my best friend is missing and could be dead.

JAMES POV

It has been 2 hours and still no sign for Rayne the ministry is looking for her. I am still hugging Lily when Snape starts moving in the hospital bed

"Pomfrey he's waking up"

"Mr. Snape you took a heavy hit earlier but we fixed you all up here is a potion to help with pain. We were able to fix your slashes on your abdomen but it left a scar"

"Ok thanks," Snape says

"Snape I need you to tell me what happened"
