As a writer, I write various stories from various genre.
Recently in this one story, a girl goes missing. Upon reading her diary, her friends found that it all stemmed from that one time where she received flowers on Valentine's Day. The person just left it on her desk without a word.
Satisfied with the mystery of this story, I published it up on Wattpad. You can still read it, the book's name is The Emo Girl.
So that year, on Valentine's Day, I went to school as usual. As I go to an all girls school, no one actually made a huge fuss of Valentine's Day since... well, we're all girls, and even if they went on dates, it would be after school.
But still, our school had Friendship Week at the time. The peer counsellors sold some gifts that would be delivered to the person you send them to on Valentine's Day. Consider it a friendly Valentine's Day gesture.
So, on Valentine's Day, the majority of my classmates received transvaal daisies from their friends. Some even received more than one while I was just there with none. Well, I didn't really think much about it since my friends and I aren't really that big on flowers. But still, being one of the only ones that didn't receive anything was still a little heartbreaking. I even thought of buying one and having it sent to myself like Mr. Bean or something. But I figured since all of the peer counsellors know me, because I'm a senior, that would've been a very shameful thing to do.Those who received flowers thanked the sender and put their colourful daisies away in their bags. We grabbed our water bottles to go down to the field for PE.
As I went down, I realised that I was the first to arrive, besides our enthusiastic teacher, of course. We both waited for the rest of my classmates to come in.
They eventually did and we had a fun, but tiring PE class.
We then went back to our classroom for language class.
As usual, I was one of the first to come in as I was the first to leave. Very few of my classmates were already in before me, including the girls that sat behind me.
I went back to my spot around the middle to finally sit down after the tiring PE lesson and the long walk plus two flights of stairs. The desks in my row were arranged in pairs, but I didn't have a desk-mate since there weren't enough people in my class. The middle row was arranged in threes while the last was arranged in twos too.
So I was the only one with no one to sit next to.
Which was a good thing since I got to dump my stuff on that table instead off having to stuff it into my bag.
So as I was approaching my table, I noticed something red on my desk.
Puzzled, I went to take a closer look and saw that there was a red spider hibiscus left on my table with no note, nothing.
This kinda creeped me out because, like I said, that story I wrote. And now I find a flower on my table.
I've seen these flowers on the bushes around school. So it seemed more like someone just plucked it and left it on my table.
But who...?
As soon as my other classmates arrived, I asked them. Mainly Rebecca, the girl that sat behind me.
Well, she wasn't on the best terms with me, nor was she with the rest of the class for that matter. It was just like her to pull off a prank like this.
"Hey Rebecca," I confronted her. "Did you leave this flower on my table?"
"What?" Rebecca simply said. "It wasn't me."
"Then who?!" I demanded. "It was you, wasn't it? Who else would it be?"
"Maybe it was Raul?" Rebecca suggested, wiggling her brows.
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked, confused. "I don't even know any Raul."
"Yeah but he knows you," Rebecca disgustingly stated. "And he likes you!"
And then she proceeded to mock me by pursing her lips at me while wiggling her brows. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my desk.
If it wasn't her, then who was it? And why leave a hibiscus at my desk?
I threw the flower out and went on with my class. Rebecca said nothing else about it either.
