1993
Jay offered to drop Stanley and family home after the 15th day prayers of his brother's death. They didn't have a car, and had to attend the prayers by bus. Since it was too late, nearing midnight, Jay decided to drop his uncle and his family back home.
By the time they reached home, it was a quarter past midnight.
"Wash your legs, children!" Susanna instructed. "We are back right after visiting a grieving home."
Her children obediently did as they were told and washed their legs with the water from the outdoor tap. The youngest daughter, Kayla, slipped and fell. It was a good thing she wasn't harmed.
"Careful!" Sabrina warned, pulling her sister up. "How did you fall?"
"I don't know, it was as if someone pushed me," Kayla shrugged.Meanwhile, Jay was driving back home. He didn't even exit to the highway yet when he had the shock of his life when he glanced at the rear view mirror.
To his surprise, he saw his dead younger brother sitting on the back seat, his arms stretched out along the headrests.
He always sat like that when he was alive due to his condition, Paget's Disease. He couldn't walk because of the weak bones in his legs. He was only twenty-one when the disease claimed his life fifteen days ago.
And now Jay was terrified. He turned around to face the backseat, only to see nothing. He looked back at the mirror, and to his horror, he was back. He was only seen through the mirror.
He turned the car around, driving back to Stanley's house. He was much too scared to drive all the way home, knowing that there's a ghost behind him.
He stopped in front of Stanley's home and rang the doorbell repeatedly. There was no answer since they were all fast asleep, exhausted due to spending the whole day at Jay's place.
He rang the doorbell countless times, but they didn't answer. Jay looked back at his car, and saw nothing behind.
Without much of a choice, he got back into the car and started to drive back home again. He made his way to the highway and tried not to look at the rear view mirror. The deceased man was still there.More than halfway throughout the journey, he came up to a temple. But sadly, it was on the opposite side of the road. He pulled over at the side of the road, got out, crossed the road and sat near the temple. From where he sat, he could still see his brother sitting in the car. Jay eventually fell asleep and before he knew it, it was daylight.
He looked at the time and saw that it was nearly seven. He peered at his car on the opposite side of the road and saw nothing there. He crossed the road and got back in.
Jay gulped and looked up at the rear-view mirror again.
Nothing.
He drove home as fast as he could. Two days later...
For some reason, Stanley decided to sleep alone upstairs. The room was actually an air well, but modified into a bedroom. The breeze was cooling, and since they did not own an air conditioner, that was their closest thing.
A gust of cold wind came through the broken shutter on the bottom of the stairs. Stanley frowned and looked down the railing next to the bed, keeping in mind to get that window fixed as soon as possible.
He pulled his blanket up and turned to the other side, falling asleep. It was around three in the morning when Stanley awoke again. He suddenly had sleep paralysis. He looked down the railing and to his horror, saw his dead nephew's head floating into the room through the broken shutter. The head floated up the stairs, into the room.
"Come with me..."
"Get outta here!" Stanley cried, scrambling out of bed. "Where's the rest of you? Don't come near me!"Susanna groggily made her way out of the bedroom in the dark to go to the bathroom. She passed the stairs that lead to the upstairs room. She heard her husband shouting in his sleep, and turned the light on.
"What's going on up there?" She asked, looking up at the stairway.
Stanley instantly woke up and ran down the stairs, pale.
"What's up?" Susanna asked again.
He said nothing and went to sleep in the master bedroom together with the rest of the family. Susanna scratched her head and went to the bathroom before going back to bed.
Only the next day did he tell his family about last night's happenings.
The guy had only been to this house once when he was alive, even that was when he was still a little boy. They suspect that he saw the house when Jay came to drop them off the other night.
And Susanna also suspected that he's the one that pushed Kayla the other night. He was there after all, in Jay's car.
