*7 years later*

"Sweetheart, slow down!" I yelled, watching Layla run up the stairs. Six years old and she was already so fast. Kyla laughed behind me.

"She's excited. You were just like this when your egg hatched." She said, smiling at me. When we go the top of the stairs, I turned to look at her. She was radiant today. Her hand absentmindedly rubbing her swollen belly. Our second child was days away from being born.

"I can't believe she already has a dragon." I told her. She laughed and walked over to Layla, who was hovering over the small egg. Tanwen and Drake were trying to keep their distance but were straining to see. I didn't move for a minute and just looked at them. I was still surprised from time to time what my life was like.

I still had nightmares from the battle. Seeing Kyla, unconscious and laying in her own blood stayed with me. She didn't wake up for days after and I never left her side through that time. Tan and Drake stayed right outside the window of the room she was in. I gave her hell when she finally woke up, making her promise to never do that again. We married a month after that and days later she told me she was pregnant. And here we are. Watching our daughter anxiously wait for her egg to hatch.

"Be patient, princess." I said with a laugh. I walked up to them and sat on the floor. Layla's tiny face was scrunched up in concentration. The egg just so happened to be one of Tanwen's and Drake's. They seemed pretty excited about it. The egg wiggled causing Layla to gasp. It was the most adorable thing. Seconds later, a piece of the egg popped out.

Layla squealed and got even closer. I glanced at Kyla then and saw the biggest smile on her face. I was so lucky to have her. I looked at Layla again and saw her practically bouncing in place. Another piece of the egg fell away and a tiny head poked it's way out. At first, the tiny dragon seemed to be white but then it's scales started to shimmer.

"Oh she's gonna be able to camouflage like Tan." Kyla said. Drake hummed low and laid his head on the floor. The baby dragon focused on Layla for a moment and purred. Then she broke the rest of the shell and started to explore.

"Nuri, where are you going?" Layla asked, giggling wildly. "Daddy look!"

"I see baby girl." I said, moving over to Kyla. She sighed and laid her head on my shoulder. I planted a kiss on the top of her head and went back to watching Layla. She kept squealing an jumping around with Nuri. "Are you ready to do this again?"

"More than ready, my love." Kyla said, laughing. She sat up and rubbed her belly. "I hope you're ready."

"Oh I am ready. Two little ones to spoil? Bring it on." I told her, poking her in the side.

"Honey?" She said, looking at me.

"Hmm?" I responded, eyes on Layla.

"My water just broke."
