Quote of the day: "I like thick women, not no skinny women. I want something to grab for and when I grab I don't want to feel no bone, I want to feel some fresh, good chocolate meat."
Hazel
"Hazel, you know you have to get a job to feed that baby of yours, right?" My dad, John asked. I try to ponder on his comment. I didn't need a job just yet, I mean I know I been slacking and everything but he's my dad. He is suppose to do it for me.
I just wasn't in the mood for being out there in the world. Especially when I just broke up with my baby daddy. He didn't even care about my baby girl. He was too busy hanging around that white model with the perfect blonde hair and fake boob implants.
"Dad, I promise I'm going to get a job. I just need some time. My boyfriend Colton just broke up with me! Its devastating!" I say while eating my cornbread. It was one of my favorite dishes and my dad stared at me.
My dad chuckled and shook his head. "You need to get over that boy. He broke up with you two months ago and you still are talking about him. The funny thing is that you got over your mom quicker then you got over this 'Colton' boy." My dad said, a hint of disappointment in his voice as he ate.
I didn't feel like talking about mom. Her name was always popping in me and dads conversations. I knew how much he missed her but that was over a year ago.
I get up and wrap the left over food on my plate with foil then grab a Sprite and head to my room.
"I got over my mom quicker then Colton because I knew my mom wasn't coming back to me." I say while passing my dad and trying to walk away but he grabbed my arm.
"How do you know he's coming back? He doesn't want you, Hazel. Get over it." My dad said and I pull away from him before walking to my room.
I close the door and set my food and drink on my nightstand. I close my eyes as I past by my mirror. I hated mirrors...always judging the way people see me.
I walk to my closet and pick out some black tights, short shorts and a old gym shirt that still fits.
I don't go to the gym, haven't since my mom died so I guess that did a toll on me. I ended up gaining fifty pounds in six months and I hated it.
I went and took a shower, scrubbing every inch of my body. I knew my dad was right. Colton didn't want me, but I wanted him.
I sighed and got dressed before walking down the hall to my babies room.
We didn't share a room because my room was always to dark and she cried because of that so I gave her a lighter room.
I stare at the little bundle of joy as she sleeps. "I love you Raina." I say while kissing her forehead. "Your daddy Colton is coming back to us...you just wait and see." I said, knowing that will never happen. I pick her up and cradle her in my arms until she opens one of her beautiful big brown eyes.
"Looks like someone is hungry." I grab a bottle of milk and feed my cute little baby Raina until she starts coffing up spit and watered down milk.
I wipe her mouth then set her back in the crib. I walk out the bright yellow room then go back to my room.
I lay on the bed and eat my food while watching my Empire show. When it goes to commercial I see a business ad.
I pay close attention to the screen. This could be my chance to get a job and pay for my baby.
I write down the address and phone number before turning off the television.
Interviews started in a week so I would be ready no matter what. Dad is going to be so proud.
