"KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK" I scrambled to put some pants one and ran to the door to answer it. It was Derick. He didn't look to happy.
"May I help you? Do you know what time it is? It's 7:40 in the morning on a Monday off school. You could have woken up my mother, you kn-" I was cut off by Derick.
"Just shut up. You know why I'm here. Who do you think you are? Brainwashing Rylie to believe she loves you? Seriously man? You might have well kidnapped her and held her hostage."
"Look, I didn't brainwash anyone. She loves me now. Can you get that through your thick skull? She is d-o-n-e with you. There is no taking her back now." Hopefully those words came out with out the fear that was building up inside me.

Whack! He punched so hard right across the face that I couldn't feel the left side of my whole face for the next 10 hours. I chose to do the same to him. And maybe do it a few more times than I should have. I immediately felt guilty though. So I helped him back up to his feet and handed him an ice pack that I conveniently had already frozen sitting on the side table by the door from my mom. He took the ice pack then chucked it at my face. Barely did he miss, but I lucked out and he did.
"Really? Where's your aim? Aren't you suppose to be a football player?"
That set him over the edge. He started punching me over and over and over. Then I heard our neighbor (who was a weight lifter and was only 28 and was extremely in shape) start to yelling and run over. I couldn't tell you what happened once he got here. I can tell you he got Derick off of me because I'm living.
I woke up on my couch with my mom, dad, the neighbor, and Rylie talking. I wasn't sure what they were talking about; I just heard Dericks name over and over. It brought an extremely painful headache to me, like it was on a gold platter with a servant trying to convince you to take what ever it is that is in there and won't shut up until (a) you have a head ache or (b) you get so sick of them talking that you acquiesce.

"He is awake." mom mom said in one big exhale.
"Oh thank god" Rylie said in the same manner as my mother.
"Why on earth is there a bag of salt on my head?" I said confused. I'm still confused to this day why there was a bag of salt on my head.
"Because, it will help you feel better. It's frozen salt." My mom explained. "We are tryin' to freeze the ice pack. It's almost done."
"Ok mom?" I said with a confused tone in my voice, still.
"Oh my god, Andrew aw you ok?!" Rylie rushed over to me and squeezed my hand while hugging me just as tight.
"I tried I warn you. I should have just stayed here with you last night. I should have been here to talk him out of it. I'm sorry, so so sorry Andrew."
"Rylie,! It's not your fault! It's no ones but his sick twisted mind. I'm sorry but there's nothing you could have done." I said extremely serene.
"I know, I know, I just, I don't know. I'm sorry, I love you." Rylie remarked, she looked like she was about to cry. I was fine, I was alive. Like I said, girls are too emotional.
"I love you too Rylie." Then fell back to sleep.
