As we almost arrived at the Malfoy Manor, I had thought about what my life at my new school would be like. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
My father had mentioned details about his life at Hogwarts and the people he had met. He was not shy about telling me the truth about the experience. He mentioned not only how he would get bullied and pranked but he had also told me about the friends he had made.
Although, he never mentioned any actual names.
"There is no need in exploiting other's behavior. That is useless gossip." He would tell me.
Although, as much as I was nervous, I was excited. I needed to get out of the house and start doing things with my life. I didn't want to grow to be the useless and lonely grandmother in the back of the room. Instead, I wanted to explore. Whether that was books, culture, people, diversity, and anything but that house I'd spent my entire life in.
I had been homeschooled up until the age of 9 by my mother. Then, Father had paid for a private professor to come to the house and teach me.
Although, I hate to admit that I had a bad reputation. I've gone through at least 25 professors in the past 4 years. They usually leave in panic while running for their lives. Father always complained that I had scared them off. Although, I think it's just showing some personality.
Although, now that I'm going to Hogwarts things are going to change. I wanted this to be different. In fact, I needed this to be different, and in my mind, this was the only way of letting go of my lousy mommy issues.
Shortly we had finally arrived. Seeing the tall jet-black manor I sent a gulp down my throat. Even though I had spent probably half my childhood in this house the all-black exterior and interior could still intimidate anyone passing by.
As we rang the doorbell the door immediately swung open. I looked at Narcissa standing by the door with a wide smile spread across her face. I quickly observed her dark brown eyes, and her hair was black at the top yet a platinum blonde at the bottom, while sectioned in a half up half down pony. As usual.
"Ah, Severus long time no see. How have you been?" The Narcissa asked.
"I've been very well Narcissa," Father said as he stared at her before he turned his head down looking at me. Narcissa had then brought her attention down to me as well.
"Malia! Oh my, Merlin. How have you been darling I missed you" Narcissa gasped before leaning in to hug me.
As father had said goodbye to me and told me that he'd see me soon both Narcissa and I walked into the manor. We had made it across the foyer to the staircase where Narcissa had yelled to the top.
"Draco come downstairs please!" I looked up at the stairs worried. She then turned back to look me up and down. "Oh my how you've grown!" She gasped putting her palm to her mouth. "Alright, 360,"
"What?" I asked pushing my eyebrows together in confusion. Before I could react, she grabbed my shoulders lightly and slowly spun me around until I was facing her again.
"Yes, you have DEFINITELY grown my darling," We then locked eyes and I watched as she looked at me studying my face as though she was memorizing it. "Oh, but you're still my little girl," she caught back a sob and put her arms around me again to pull me in tight.
I felt my body relax as she held me up with all her love and strength. Hugging her, being here, it all brought me back to my childhood which had escaped from my grasp too quickly.
"I missed you Cissa," I felt my eyes water as she released me. She gripped my shoulders and bent down to meet me eye to eye.
"I missed you too darling," She whispered. She brought her hand to my cheek and wiped away a tear sliding down my face.
