Waking back into the basement to the sound of the stairs making an eerie creek every step I took. I didn't expect to see what I found myself staring in awe at.

Amara looked pristine, not one bruise or cut on her face, her dress wasn't ripped or torn, hell, it wasn't even creased. Her smooth leg lay gently over the other in a crossed position while she sat waiting and playing with her hair in an almost childish fashion.

On the floor were Sebastian, Mason and Chris. All immediately rubbing there heads as though they had be knocked clean on their backsides.

A small smirk appeared from her lips as I edged closer in amazement. My lips slightly parted not being able to get my words out.

"All three? You took on all three?" I managed to gabble out gesturing toward the three huge men struggling to get up.

Amaras calm and poised position spoke volumes about how she had dealt with this situation.

"Mr Medici, I have been in this business a very long time, you don't think a woman like me would learn how to defend herself?" Her lips open and all I hear is melody coming out of them. Her voice was so soothing yet deadly that it hypnotised anyone who would've heard it.

"You're amazing." I admitted to her. I couldn't get out of this state of awe I was in.

The look on her face turned from smug to utter shock when I said this, as if she's never received a compliment like it.

"Chris. Sebastian. Mason. Out now. I need to speak with Amara." My voice was raised slightly, yet with a dominating chill to it.

Almost instantly all three stood up and exited the room as fast as they could. Most likely to save themselves the embarrassment of being in a room with a woman who just beat them to shit.

Amara is still sat in the chair unaffected by my small strides toward her. We kept close eye contact until she broke it by looking toward the ground.

"You may have beaten my men Amara, but you still can't leave. You lied to me. I thought you were someone who you clearly aren't."

My voice broke in the middle of getting these words out in almost a hurt tone. She did hurt me. I don't know who this woman is. I'm still attracted to her more than anything else. But was everything she told me a lie?

"I didn't lie. Not really." Her eyes gazed down unable to look into mine.

Anger grew more in my body and I just wanted to hit something.

"Amara I don't even know who you are. You lied about your dad. You told me he left when you were young. Clearly that wasn't true." I started to heat up from the anger, and now I was shouting, not too loud but louder than I wanted to do, especially to Amara.

This time her eyes looked up into mine as I towered over her body making her look minuscule and weak. She wasn't even close to those.

"My dad was the biggest part of my life. He taught me everything I know, including how I should never trust someone. So there you go, that's why I didn't tell you." Her voice cracked and winced letting everything out.

It was almost a combination of anger and sadness in her expression, whatever it was, I hadn't seen it before.

"Tell me, why my men? Why my clubs?"

Pulling a chair towards me and taking a seat directly opposite her. My arms rested on my legs with my shoulders propped up.

"I didn't know that it was you, I get given a target. I take them out. I get paid."
