POV Kenma
The tapping on my shoulder teared me from my sleep and I straightened myself. As the blur in my sight disappeared I could see the nurse, who brought me in here. I fell asleep on the chair.
"Your mother is out of the operation." She said calmly with a smile on her face. "She made it!"
I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hands and nodded.
"She's resting. You should go home before it gets too late."It was 8 pm. The moon shone through the thick clouds. Streetlights supporting it, to keep the world bright. I sat down on the bench and waited for the time to get to the subway. The flowers in my hands started loosing their strength already. With a sigh I leaned back and closed my eyes. She's fine. She will come home soon. Even though it has been already 8 months, since she got transferred to the hospital.
"Hey!"
I opened my eyes and looked at the direction where the voice came from. My eyes enlarged as I saw the person standing by the bench.
"Tulip!" Kuroo smiled big, folding his hands behind his back. His eyes wandered to the bouquet in my hand. The eyebrows rose right away and he pointed at it.
"You didn't give them to your mother?" He asked. I looked down on my lap and back up to him.
"Y-yeah." I stuttered, trying to bring up my words. Kuroo sat down next to me and smiled.
"Why?" He asked and pulled one tulip out. The head of the flower started waggling as he held it up to the air.
Shit. That was embarrassing. He prepared these for my mother and now I am sitting here with them.
"She got into an emergency operation. I couldn't hand them to her."
Kuroo turned his head to me quickly, eyes widening.
"But she made it. She's fine now. Just resting." I added quickly.
His eyes still didn't relax. "Your mother has been laying in the hospital the whole time?" He asked. His face changed quickly. I noticed how he regretted to speak out this sentence. I nodded without saying anything. Kuroo leaned back and looked forward. Silence took over and we sat there, listening to the cars and people walking past us. My eyes wandered to the flower in his hand. He moved it from his left hand to his right. Suddenly he spoke.
"You know what I noticed?" He asked, turning his body to me and holding the tulip upside down into the air. "They just look like you Kenma." Kuroo said and grinned big. I looked at the tulip and realized how much the shape and color reminded me of my hair. His eyes pinned on me and I felt my cheeks burning again. A smile formed on my lips but I lowered my gaze. Kuroo stood up from the bench and looked down to me.
"My train is about to arrive now." He said and rummaged in his bag. After pulling his phone out he held it in front of my face. "Can I like... get your number?" An awkward laugh escaped his mouth and he scratched the back of his head. I took the phone in between my hands and typed my number in it.POV Kuroo
I wagged from one leg to the other. He really was typing his number in. The inside of my stomach tickled, palms started sweating. After he was done he handed me my mobile and smiled.
"I will text you." I said and started backing up slowly.
"Good night Kuroo."
"Good night."
I walked around the bench and headed to the stairs. Before putting one foot on them I stopped and looked at my phone. The corner of my mouth lifted quickly, almost touching my ears, as I read the name bar. 'Tulip'
Both of my hands slapped against my face and I sighed loudly.
"Aah! This was so fucking awkward!" I removed them and caught a lady looking at me strangely. My smile dropped and I looked back at her feeling the heat building up in my whole body. Was I too loud? I broke the contact and started sprinting down the stairs.
