POV Kuroo
"You know that he's a 128 lbs guy, he wont be able to eat all of that." Akaashi said and pointed at the bag in my hand.
Without responding I handed it to him and opened a new one. My head started spinning, I just kept filling the bag with more pastries, without thinking for a single second.
"Kuroo-" He tried to speak up again but I turned around and spoke.
"No Akaashi, you don't understand. He hasn't been eating for days!" I turned back around and continued grabbing the baked, stuffing them all in.
"One time his mother had a pastry on the side of her lunch and she told Kenma to eat it. She said, that he would like it. That's why I am assuming, that he would eat these."
Akaashi shut his mouth and nodded silently. I grabbed the last piece of apple pie and turned around.
My eyes pressed together. "What if it reminds him of his mother? What if he will get sad again?" Even just thinking of if made my stomach twist.
Akaashi's brows drew together. He looked at me. "Do you realize, how stupid you sound right now?" He asked. My eyes opened again, as I noticed Bokuto and Oikawa walking up to us. They stopped next to him.
"Kenma could be looking at a pair of random eyes and it could remind him of his mother, she also had two eyes right?"
I nodded slowly.
"I'm trying to say, that maybe everything will remind him of her and you will not be able to change that. Also getting used to it, will help him cope better."
My gaze lowered. Since that day, I didn't call him tulip. I never brought him his favorite flowers, because I always thought that he would remember them as bad things now. Akaashi was right. I could not hide the whole world from him and act like his mother never existed.
"You will have to make him love the things, that he connects with her." Oikawa said and raised his index finger. "She didn't leave, so he can just forget her."
The corner of my mouth lifted, as I realized how much comfort these words gave me. "Thank you guys. You're the best."
"Anytime bedhead." Bokuto winked at me.
"Dumbass you didn't even say anything."I slowly opened the door and peeked my head inside the room. Kenma was sitting on my bed, face turned to the direction of the window. He was looking outside, in between his fingers he held the switch.
I looked at him for a while. Kenma told me that he likes to play video games a lot. I never really saw him play before his mother passed away, but it looked like he wasn't focusing right now. That didn't sound much like him.
I opened my mouth. Should I?
"Hey tulip." I said and stepped inside smiling, the two bags were pressed behind my back. Kenma turned his head around and looked at me. He had dark circles under his eyes, the corner of his mouth lifted weakly.
"Kuroo." He said and placed the console next to him onto the sheets.
I sat down in front of him. "How are you feeling?" I asked while putting the food in front of him.
"When I left for the store you were still asleep, so I couldn't ask you if you needed something." Kenma nodded in response, observing the amount of sweet baked treats.POV Kenma
Kuroo continued talking, but I wasn't listening. My eyes pinned on the stuff, that got placed on the bed. It was still going, as he talked more came out of the bags.
"Kuroo." I said and he stopped, looking up to me. His eyes widened a little bit, allowing the hazel pupils to be more visible. It looked like he was afraid to say something wrong or offensive.
"Kuroo that's a little too much." I watched him pulling his hands out of the bag.
"I wasn't sure, which one you would like. The only thing I know, is that you like sweets."
I grabbed the apple pie and placed it on my lap. With both hands I opened the package and took one slice out.
"Apple pie is my favorite Kuroo." I said smiling, holding the slice in front of him. Kuroo took it with both hands, a gigantic smile formed on his lips.
"But anything else would've also been fine." I took a bite and lowered my gaze.
It tasted nothing like hers. But it was still fine, maybe even better, because Kuroo bought it for me. Her face popped up into my mind, but I squeezed my eyes. Not now.
"Kenma." Kuroo said and looked at me. I chewed the bite and swallowed it. He continued talking.
"You have been staying inside for almost a week. Would you like to go out for a walk?."
I looked into his eyes without any reaction. Kuroo startled, clearing his throat.
"I mean only if you're ready and feel like it of course."
The corner of my mouth lifted by the look of his scared face. Am I really that intimidating? To be honest, I wasn't the biggest fan of going outside. But staying inside and overthinking, wasn't helping too. Maybe I need to force myself into some things now. And he was helping me.
"Not today. Tomorrow sounds better." I said and took another bite.
Kuroo smiled, nodding.
Everytime I looked at him, I realize how much I needed him. Right now.
