School the next day was even harder to get through than usual. The confusion of last night being all that you could think about even as you walked home. Your mind ran at a million miles a minute as you cycled through everything. The Sailor Guardians, the Moon Princess, the Silver Crystal, the Dark Kingdom... Mamoru...

You used to complain about life being complicated before but now... You stopped in your tracks, sighing and slapping a hand to your head in frustration . Things started to make less and less sense by the minute.

Mamoru's broken pocket watch rested snug in your pocket and you took it out, admiring it longingly. You still hadn't returned it, yet...You wondered if he knew you had it...You wondered if he thought of you as much as you did, him...

You shook the thought out of your head, bringing your attention to the park entrance. Going home would only bury deeper into your own head and so you slowly entered the park, eyes admiring the greenery around you... Until they caught onto someone familiar.

Was this fate playing a prank on you?

As conflicted as you were, you couldn't help but smile upon spotting Mamoru sitting on the edge of the fountain invested in a book. He looked so elegant there, like a painting in motion. You almost didn't want to disturb him... almost.

"Hey..." You found your voice to sound ridiculously shy in front of him, but it was too late to cover up with a cough and restart as he'd already looked up.

His glasses rested against the tip of his nose as he stared up at you and casually shut the book in his hands, "...Hey."

A quick, nosy, glance let you catch the title. A book on crystals... Then Sailor V's reveal from last night returned to you and a pang of jealousy hit. Mamoru's dream of the girl professing her love to him... you could never forget the far off look in his eyes as he spoke about it... Was there a chance that girl was Sailor V? You tried your best to seem chill, by rocking on the balls on your feet. "So... the Moon Princess, huh? Looks like you were close to the truth all along..."

You weren't sure what exactly compelled you to bring that up but you mentally punched yourself for doing so. Not the best opener. Mamoru seemed confused, though if only for a second before he gave a soft shake of the head, looking forward in thought, "No..." Mamoru made a move to remove his glasses, drawing your attention to his side profile, which you actively had to stop yourself from staring at. "I don't know how to describe it, but... I have a feeling she's not telling the truth..."

Was that why he looked at her so strangely last night? You tilted your head, before nodding slowly, "...I'll take your word for it, then."

Mamoru turned to look up at you incredulously before he smiled and shook his head caught off guard by your immediate belief in him. You couldn't handle the smile he gave, averting your eyes for a second before remembering the pocket watch in your pocket. Your eyes widened and you turned back to him, "Oh, I actually have something of yours, I should return it."

You held the pocket watch up, the gold glinting in the light. Even now, you couldn't help but admire it. Despite that, Mamoru shook his head and waved a dismissive hand, "I have something of yours too."

You raised a brow, waiting for him to explain, only for him to take out a familiar object from his pocket, "My necklace...?"

It glimmered, dangling between Mamoru's fingers. As you stared at it, you tried to retrace your actions from the Masquerade ball. But...that meant... You frowned at him, "Hey... does that mean you knew it was me at the masquerade ball?"

He chuckled, sending your heart fluttering, "It was obvious after a while."

You pouted slightly but felt your cheeks heat up regardless. So he knew he was kissing you. He knew... snapping out of it you masked your embarrassment with a sly smile, "Then... I'll have my revenge," Pulling the pocket watch back towards you, you grinned. "What a cute watch, I think I'll keep it~"
