Angelwing woke up a couple hours later. She lifted her head, blinking a few times in disbelief.
'I can see.' She thought. 'How did Moondrop do it?'
She lifted herself off her moss bed, slightly staggering. And walked out of her room.
Everything was different now. The cave walls were a lot duller than she had imagined. And her scales were a lot brighter.
Her scales were a medium shade of light green with specks of dark blue here and there. The soft glow from the flamesilk necklace gave a bit more light to the cool hallway.
She came to the eating area where she saw her mother, father and sister all sitting around the rock that acted as their table.
Moondrop looked up as Angelwing entered the room and gave her a smile. "How are you feeling, Angel?"
Angelwing sat down beside her sister.
"A bit lightheaded and dizzy. I'm not used to this."Moondrop nodded and put a wing around her sister. "It'll be like that for a while. It'll get better."
Angelwing nodded, then excused herself. She made her way outside and sat on the beach.
Of course, it wasn't really a beach. There was a rock wall that covered most of the view, with leaves and moss covering the top, causing the light that filtered in to be green.
Angelwing looked up at the green overgrowth and her head filled with curiosity and ideas. She suddenly got the ambition too explore and travel. She wanted to go places and see things, and maybe even meet someone.
She let out a deep sigh as she heard footsteps approach. She knew who it was from the sound of the talon steps.
"Hey Moondrop." She said, quietly.
Moondrop sat beside Angelwing and wrapped a wing around her.
"Hey Angel. Are you okay?"Angel nodded, leaning into her sisters embrace. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just thinking." She paused. "Now that I have my vision, I kinda wanna travel. I wanna see things. I wanna see the world."
Moondrop gave Angelwing a small smile. "Well, what's stopping you?"
Angelwing gave Moondrop a slightly shocked look. "Seriously? Without telling mom? Or dad? You want me to just leave?"
Moondrop grabbed her sister by the shoulders. "I want you too live, little sis. I want you too live your life. To be free. To do what ever you want and too see what ever you want to see."
Moondrop released her grip on Angelwing and looked towards the cave entrance. "Mom and dad are busy. Leave while you have the chance. I'll distract them for as long as I can."
Angelwing went to protest. But her sudden, newfound ambition caused her to nod and fly towards the tiny opening between the rock and the overgrowth.
She looked at her sister one last time before slipping through the opening and into the great unknown.
