''Nooo, youre saying it wrong its Leviosa, not Leviosaa,'' Graham sighed.
Frustrated I let myself fall on the sofa and glared at the stupid plate on the table in front of me. ''Why is this so difficult, you said it was an easy spell.''
''Lizzy, you just don't concentrate well enough. Now do it again and focus exactly on what you want to do. And remember swish and flick.''
I stood up again raised my wand and just thought of one thing: I wanted that stupid thing to fly.
''Wingardium Leviosa''
The plate did indeed rise, not just the plate but the whole table did. It floated in the air and nearly teared down the chandelier hanging from the ceiling. In shock I lowered my wand which turned out to be a big mistake. The table crushed back on the floor dishes rolling in all directions.
''Oops.''
I couldnt stop myself from laughing and Graham quickly joined.
''You know it wasnt that bad. I mean the table is verry heavy and you managed to raise it even tho that was not your intention. But I think we should move to something else. Maybe Potions?''
I had already read all the books for that school year. It was always verry boring when my brother went to visit his friends, so this was a welcome way to pass the time. Potions seemed to be interesting and I was desperate to try something particularly.
I opened Magical Drafts and Potions and flipped through the pages.
''What about the Sleeping Draught? Maybe I can slip a bit of it in dads drink at dinner.''
''Don't think thats a good idea, but the Potion is perfect. Its not so difficult and you will be doing it in class later.''
I went to get the ingredients not needing to check the list again, cause I still had it in mind. While Graham heated the cauldron, I cut the Valerian Springs and Lavender. I then started to add the ingredients into the boiling water exactly following the instructions.
At last, I added the Flobberworm Mucus and stirred 5 times clockwise. ''Well now it should turn dark purple.''
The potion did indeed turn deep, dark purple. I looked at my brother with a satisfied grin.
''Looks like we know your strengths now but actually you wont need it because Snape favors all Slytherins anyway,'', he shrugged.
''And what if I get sorted into another house?''
He thought for a moment. ''Well mum and dad wouldn't be pleased but youre from a long line of Slytherins, its very unlikely that you get sorted into another house.''
Graham offered to clean the mess weve created so I could go upstairs to pack my trunk for the journey tomorrow. I was very exited to finally go to Hogwarts but more than that happy to leave my parents house.

I stood at the top of the staircase with my trunk and watched my brother with amusement as he hurried between kitchen and living room emptying his coffee mug all at once. I have already had breakfast and was ready to head to Kings Cross but my brother seemed to have overslept.
I tried to lift my trunk and drag it down to the living room but its weight almost pulled me down with it. I was forced to let it go and with loud rumbling my full trunk fell down the bainsterless staircase. My brother somehow managed to catch it after stuffing the toast he was holding into his mouth.
''How come you always be there when something happens to me and manage to catch me or my stuff?''
''I don't know, probably just luck. Maybe Im made to save my clumsy little sisters life,'' he chuckled.
