I'm home

His green eyes light up as he sees his figure. Standing with his back towards him and mindlessly putting different flowers in a vase. His heart yearns and he smiles with few tears glistening at the corner of his eyes.

A little mischief walk, he wraps his arms around him from the back. A slight tremor of the body in his arms and then a ragged whisper of "oh my God.." comes from the boy. He tucks his head in his neck and inhales the familiar smell of home, yeah home, that's what he is. The boy in his arm shakes and he knows there are tears being shed much similar to his. His hold on him tightens as the boy shakes and inhales deep breaths, there are silent words of 'oh God, oh God' with quiet sobs and he kisses the exposed skin of the boy on his neck, feeling the skin tingle under his touch.

A small smile forms on his face thinking he still has this effect on him.

"Hello, my love"

He finally whispers softly maybe after a lifetime of holding onto him and if it was possible the body under his arms shakes more and now there are loud sobs and frequent tears falling on his hands wrapped around his waist.

"I missed you" he mumbles again into the skin.

A beat passes before soft hands envelope his and gentle finger tips run on them as if testing whether this is real or not. A second later the boy turns, eyes closed and there is pain on that pretty face, it looks scared with furrowed brows and trembling lips but still beautiful, always so beautiful. And it's been long, too long since he has seen his face, since he has held him in his arms, since he has seen beauty and meaning of life. He is gentle, like always, as his hands come up blindly to feel him, resting them on his cheeks and not daring to open his eyes. A gasp leaves his mouth as he feels him before those eyes open and tears fall free. His lips are trembling and he is opening his mouth as if to say something but no words come out. His own hands stay on his waist, holding him close and a smile breaks out on his face before a tear escapes his eyes and he lets out a watery chuckle.

"Missed you" he repeats as the blue glossy eyes roam his face along with the hand on his cheek.

"You're back" is the whisper he gets to which he nods.

"You're back" the boy repeats a little louder before his arms shot up and snake around his neck, tucking his face there and hugging him close.

"You're back!"

The boy cries there, hot tears soaking his shirt. And he whispers back;

"I'm home"

Louis awakes once again to the sound of beeping alarm and a cold bed. His hands instantly wander on the empty side of the bed and he sighs, a sad sigh, feeling the cold there.

It used to be warm.

His lips twitch with a sad smile before he rubs his face with his hands roughly to get rid of the sleep and presses the heels of his hands in his eye sockets, trying to stop the familiar prickling in his eyes. It has been happening awfully a lot lately.

"God" is the mumble that fells out of his mouth, as he stares above the ceiling of the room with slow blinking eyes.

His eyes drag around the room before they finally land on the small study table near the window and his gaze gets stuck on the bundle of crumbled papers and an open pen lying abandoned on it. He should do it. He has to, eventually.
