YONSEI UNIVERSITY - SPORTS ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

Lisa stepped out of her car. She didn't bother bringing anything with her.

It's the first day of Sophomore year and their sports director already asked her and Jisoo to meet at his office.

She stands outside Mr Yang's office when she noticed Jisoo who's walking towards her looking like a freaking zombie.

"Wow. You literally sleep in this building and you didn't even bother taking a bath?" Lisa chuckled at Jisoo.

She literally just got out of bed.

"Why are we even here?! I don't have to wake up until 11 am but here I am at 8 in the morning! Ugh!"

Lisa opened the door and push Jisoo in.

Mr Yang's office has a lounge where you can stay before meeting him but since it's still early. Ms. Choi, Mr Yang's secretary is alone there. The two greeted her good morning.

"LM, Jisoo! Good morning! He's waiting for you guys inside!" Ms Choi told us while stirring her coffee.

I knocked at Mr Yang's door while Jisoo is yawning beside me.

"Ahhh! If it isn't my ace! Good morning!" Mr Yang greeted us.

The two sat down in the sofa in front of him.

"Okay. I'll get to the point quickly. I have bad news guys."

Jisoo perked up. Lisa remained calm on the sofa.

"Our badminton team won't be lined up this season."

"What?!" Jisoo exclaimed. She's already standing now and pacing the room.

Lisa remained seated but she's gripping the sofa so hard, her knuckles are turning white at this point.

"I'm sorry. But the team can't be lined up because you two are the only one eligible to play"

"What do you mean, Mr Yang?" Lisa asked. Keeping her calm.

"Your teammates. Half of them failed their subject. While your men's team are still detained since last night. They got caught in an underground party with drugs."

Lisa is stunned.

Her world revolves around Badminton.

It's what made her agree to migrate to Seoul in the first place!

FLASHBACK

BANGKOK, THAILAND

She just got home from training and she's bearing good news!

Coach Paratchawin, national team's head coach, approached her in practice.

He told her that after her highschool graduation, she can come train with the national team.

"What coach?"

"You're now the youngest member of Thailand's national team, Lisa!"

Lisa's face's lit up

"Really coach??"

"yes! I only need this form to be signed by your parents since you're still a minor. But beside that, everything's a go!"

When she got home, Lisa excitedly entered their house.

"MA! PA! I'M HOME!"

"Kitchen!"

She found her parents at the dining table fixing plates of food. Lots and lots of food in the table.

"Do they know already?" Lisa thought!

"Oh good! You're here! We're gonna celebrate tonight, Lisa!"

"What is it about ma, pa?" Lisa asked innocently.

"Your papa is promoted! He'll be the head chef in Seoul!"

"What?!"

"We're migrating to South Korea!" Her mother excitedly exclaimed.

"No!" Lisa frustratedly said.

Lisa is really frustrated with their news. Not that she's not happy with her parent's news. To be honest, it's her papa's dream.

But she just got accepted into the national team!
She now have something to counter their decision to not her play badminton in college!

"What? Why Lisa?"

"I just got into the national team, ma"

Tears pool into Lisa's eyes.

No! No!

Why now?!

"I'm sorry Lisa. But we won't allow you to be here alone"

"Mom please."

Marco and Chittip don't know what to do.

Lisa's really crying now because of frustration.

The dining table is now silent. Only sob can be heard

"Okay. Here. I have an offer, Lisa." Marco broke the silence.

Lisa raised her head.

Silently praying that her parents allow her to still play.

Badminton is her life!

"You come with us to Seoul and you can play badminton in college."

"What?" Chittip asked her husband.

"Really?" Lisa perked up.

"Chit, I really want her to come with us. If that's what it takes, let our daughter."

"Fine. But I'm telling you Lisa, you have to maintain your grade. If you don't, you stop. Okay?"

Lisa stood up and hugs her parents.

She even peppered them with kisses.

"Yes! I promise! Thank you! Thank you!"

It's not national team but at least she'll get to play!
