Mitch's POV

Yes! I was finally allowed to get out of the hospital today. I really hate the hospital, especially their food. It was horrible. I could barely eat there.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" A doctor came and asked me.

"Feeling much better now that I get to go home." I chuckled.

"Okay let me just check on you one more time and you're good to go."

"Okay."

He did a few tests on me and finished 15 minutes later.

"Okay Mr. Grassi, you're good to go. Have a nice day!" He smiled at me and proceeded to the door.

"Wait, what about the bills?" I asked him. I mean, he acted as if I already paid all the bills.

"Oh, it was already taken care of. One of your friends came here yesterday and paid for everything. I think his name is Scott or something."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Oh okay. Thanks again." I said to him and he left.

Wow, did Scott really pay for my hospital bills? I texted Kirstie for his number and got it within a minute. Then, I called Scott and he picked it up on the third ring.

"Hello?"

"Hey Scott, it's um.. it's Mitch."

"Oh hey man. What's up?"

"I'm good. Actually, I'm checking out of the hospital as we speak."

"Glad to hear that man. Hope you're doing well. Again, I'm sorry for what I did."

"Thanks. Actually, I'm the one who should apologise. I heard that you paid for the bills. You really don't have to do that you know."

"It's not a big deal. I felt guilty for beating you, so that's the least that I can do." God this guy is so stubborn. I already told him not to pay but he still paid it. I know I should be happy because he paid for all the bills, but I felt more guilty now.

"But I was the one who bumped into you and broke your phone." I said back to him.

"Yeah and it wasn't your fault. Anyway, I gotta go. Bye!" And with that he hung up. How strange.  He tried to avoid talking about this, but whatever. Right now I was too happy to think of it. I was finally about to go home and sleep in my own bed. I was so totally gonna make a bowl full of mac n cheese once I got home.

I went to the administration table to sign a few things, and about to call a cab when I'm done, but then I saw Kirstie.

"Kirstie?" I said happily.

"Hey Mitch. How are you?" She smiled and hugged me. I hugged he back.

"I'm fine. What are you doing here?"

"I'm picking you up. Come on!" She said dragging me. "Scott's waiting in the car." She said.

"Wait!" I half shouted and she instantly stopped walking.

"What?"

"I um.. I am kinda um.. afraid of him?" I said but it came out more like a question. "What if he's still upset at me?"

"For God's sake Mitch, relax! He's a nice guy and he's not upset at you anymore. I promise you that he won't hurt you again." She said reassuring me.

"Promise?" I held out my pinky finger.

"Promise!" She wrapped her pinky finger around mine and smiled.

"Okay."

The car ride was silent. Scott was driving and Kirstie sat beside him while I sat at the back. I could see Scott taking a few glances at me through the rear view mirror, and we caught each other's eyes once. It was so awkward.

"Mitch, do you want to go hangout with us?" Kirstie asked me out of nowhere.

"Um.. sure. But I need to change my clothes first."

"That's fine. Do you have a car?" She asked again.

"I do."

"Okay then. I'll drop you off at your house then I'll text you the address." She said excitedly.

"Okay cool."

When I got home, I quickly went to my room. I opened my wardrobe and looked for something to wear. I decided to wear a grey skinny jeans with a white v neck tight t-shirt along with my purple converse. I checked myself in the mirror and I looked nice. Just then, my phone buzzed and it was Kirstie. She texted me telling that we'll be going to Scott's house and she sent the address as well. I sent her a quick reply telling I'd be there in 15 minutes and grabbed my car keys.

On the way to Scott's house, I suddenly felt anxious. What if they only invited me because they felt sorry for me? What if this was a trap? What if when I got there they will beat me up again?

All of the questions popped in my mind but I tried so hard to ignore it. I turned on the radio to take my mind off it. The song Problem by Ariana Grande came up and I sang to it happily, forgotting the doubts on my mind.
