After Midnight

Chapter IX

   Morning's coming, sun's rising, light's shining and birds are chirping, and I wake up with you in my arms. At that moment, all I wanted to do was stay just like this forever. I leaned on you and kissed your shoulder, and your neck, till your cheek. So you woke up, you looked in my eyes so deep you reached my soul, I was devoted to you, and you sunk into my chest deeper.

That moment was magical while it lasted, we got interrupted by the same black jeep from the day before driving past my house and shooting again. We got up as fast as we could, wrapped ourselves in the bed sheets and ran to Katheryn's room. As we arrived she was sitting on her bed terrorized, not knowing what's happening. So you went to comfort her as I got dressed. I called Liam, my closest friend in my team, so he got the team and they came as fast as they could.

I went out, alone, I stood in front of the jeep, one man versus 2 gunned men. But I was pretty confident. I approached the driver's window, knocked on it, and continued my way to the back of the car. Curious, the assassins got out of the vehicle, cocked their guns, and followed me to the back slowly. They arrived with their guns pointing at me, but I still was confident. I saw Liam coming to the guy on my right, so I attacked the one on the left. As I kicked the gun out of my guy's hand, Liam knocked out the other one, and we both pulled out our guns. And now look at how the table turned, he was one man versus two armed men.

I asked Liam to take them to mafia's base, and I went to check on you and your sister. And as I entered the room, I saw you crying with your sister lying on the floor. I ran towards both of you, I asked you what had happened. And as it turns out, the assassins shot Katelynn. She was bleeding from her chest, a lot. So I ripped my shirt and put it on her wound to try and stop the bleeding. I was pressuring the wound and I called Alex. When he arrived he asked us to get away from her. He put anesthesia on the wound, and tried to get the bullet out, but it has had sunk deeper than he expected. Katelynn's breathing started to get super heavy, and Katheryn couldn't stay away anymore. So as Katheryn was sitting next to her sister, Katelynn said: "I love you, and I am sorry for everything." And then she looked at me and said:" I trust you, take good care of my sister.", and then she had her last breath.

You were devastated. You were shook to your core. You were miserably trying to shake her hoping she'll wake up. You were crying rivers. You were screaming her name and telling her to wake up, to stay with you, to be your only family left. After seeing this I couldn't think about anything else than I got you to lose your sister. I felt guilty for destroying you. But I couldn't leave you alone at this time too. I got closer to you, pulled you away from Katelynn, and hugged you. You hugged me so tight because of how sad you were, and I hugged you even tighter because I knew this was going to be the last day I hug you. I called Liam and told him to prepare a proper funeral for Katelynn. At the funeral, before closing the coffin, you took Katelynn's hand, you told her: "I will never forget you sister, I will always love you. I am sorry if sometimes I was harsh, but it was only out of love. I- , I", and then you started crying. We took the coffin and we put it in the burial vault underground.

When we arrived home, it was starting to get dark, we went to the bedroom immediately, and you laid on me as you were still crying. I was caressing your face, playing with your hair, doing anything because I was desperately trying to comfort you. But then you fell asleep. I kissed you one last kiss on your cheek, and a tear came down mine. I knew it was the last time I will kiss you. I took my stuff and wrote a letter for when u wake up explaining why I decided to stay away from you. And I looked at you one more time. "I will miss you, love. You came into my life unexpectedly, I didn't expect to love you this much, but I do, I really do. Goodbye angel."
