After Midnight

Chapter XII

   My first thought: "protect her". I immediately called Liam as I was running inside:

-"Liam all of the guys are dead! What are we- I- no, no, no, no this can't happen

-What is it Noah?! What happened?

- Katheryn...

- What happened to her?

- She's gone.

- What do you mean she's gone? Noah? Okay I'm bringing more guys and I'm coming over"

Where are you? Did you leave me? Or did they take you? Millions and millions of question came rushing into my head, until I saw your phone on the bed and that's when I realized: they took you. But were you the thing that they wanted from us, were you the reason they were chasing us? Do you have something that they want or is it you that they want? I knew nothing except for: no matter what, I am not letting u go, and I am not letting them take you nowhere. I am going to get you back.

Liam arrived and left the guys hidden outside just like the night before. When he entered the room, he saw the anger on my face mixed with a hint of fear and a lot of determination. He immediately knew what was happening because he saw your phone in my hands. He asked me if I knew why they took you, "it's for us to discover before anything happens" I replied. He then asked:

- "Where do u think they took her?

- I have no idea but look at these, I was searching for what they could possibly want from us, and I made a connection between them and Mr. William. It's all related to what I thought was a story that he used to tell me when I was younger: the vampires need 3 things to control time. They already have 2 of these artifacts: the piercing eye and the tight grip, and it's on us to figure out what the thunder is and get it before they do.

- Count on me boss. I think I already have an idea.

- You do?

- I used to spend so much time in that library when you first became boss, so now I know every single little detail about it. And if you go down to the basement, look straight ahead, there's a somewhat small drawing of a thunder on the wall. I think that might be our first clue.

- Let's go now we've got no time to waste!"

We got in the car and Liam drove us to the library. As I arrived I saw that Garry took good care of it, but it wasn't the point for now. Liam and I got down to the basement and he showed me where the thunder drawing was. I pressed on it, and it sunk a bit into the wall making a hole in the shape of a lightning, and it emitted a laser beam pointing to the opposite side. So we searched that wall, and we didn't find anything. I kept searching until I accidentally stepped on a hollow tile. I bent down to see what's wrong with it, it wasn't fixated to the ground like the rest of the tiles, so I removed it and there was a tiny wooden box inside of it. And next to the box was its key, so we opened it up and it had the lightning key in it. And as I put it in its hole, Liam and I watched the wall open like a door to a huge room. 

Huge, but empty. There was one thing at the center of the room only, a tall transparent cylinder shaped tube from the ceiling to the ground. An immense amount of light was coming out of it. But in the center, there was something glowing even more, I focused on it and there it was, another artifact. It's a lightning shaped cane. And that's when I realized that this is what The Vampires were looking for.
