"I found one!"

Hannah screams from the other end of the train, waving her arms as she pointed inside an empty compartment. Ron let out a loud huff and hurried into the cozy compartment, as he didn't get a wink of sleep and was taking it out on everyone around him.

"That took bloody forever," Harry filled in behind me, taking the seat across from me with Hermione while I sat beside Ron and Hannah. As soon as I sat, Ron rested his head on my shoulder as got comfortable in his seat.

I said nothing, jokingly patting his head and listening in to the conversation that Hannah had started about the girl she had been owling since the World Cup, who lived in the states but often visits London in the summer.

"Hannah!"

The compartment door slides open to reveal Ms. White, who looked pleased that Hannah actually made it on the train.

"Del!"

Hannah jumped over our feet, running into Ms. White's opened arms with a joyous smile imprinted on her face. Ms. White gave the rest of us a delicate smile before looking down at Hannah with a motherly look in her eyes. I leaned into Ron a little closer as I watched the small, but happy, family rejoice with one another.

"How was the World Cup?" Ms. White ran a few fingers through Hannah's hair with was now pin-straight and blonder than it had been in the past.

"You didn't hear?" Hermione leaned up, her elbows resting on her knees as he watched Hannah slowly pull away from Ms. White.

"I was, well, busy?"

"There was an attack," Harry leaned back deeper in his seat, his cheeks flaming red as he shyly looked up to the Astronomy teacher.

"Merlin! Are you hurt?" Ms. White rolled Hannah's head around his her palms, looking for any cuts or bruises but Hannah grabbed both her wrist and dragged them from her face.

"We are fine, (Y/N)'s new friend kept us safe," Hannah slowly moved back beside me, her smirk clear on her face as she dares to look at me. My elbow connected with her ribs and I smiled when she made an 'oof' sound.

"Well thank Merlin," a loud shout came from the other end of the train, "I should probably check that out but I'll see you lots at Hogwarts."

We waved by to Ms. White as she hurried to the loud screaming, shivers running up my spine the louder it could. I prayed, deep down, it was just another prank Noah and Fred thought would be a good idea because I couldn't think if it was something worse.

"Sweets from the trolly, dears?"

I jumped in my seat, Ron's head rolling off my shoulder, as the Trolly Lady stood at our still opened compartment. My heart slowed down, taking deep breaths through my nose and finding comfort as Hannah squeezed my arm.

"Uhm," Harry stepped over our legs, digging around in his pocket as he pulled out enough from sweets from Ron and him, as he always did since the first year they met.

Hermione raised her eyebrows, mouthing a quick 'Are you okay?' but I quickly brushed it off, smiling as I looked back to Harry as he waved awkwardly at a girl I remembered seeing in Cedric's wallet earlier this summer.

He stumbled back in the compartment with the sweets held tightly to his chest as he found his seat again. My fingers pulled at one another as my focus is drawn to Harry as he looked like a giggling schoolgirl, his smile reaching the bottom of his glasses and the far-off look he had in his eye.

"You moved," Ron pulled me down, placing his head back on my shoulder and going straight back to sleep, making me pull my eyes from Harry as Ron accidentally kicked Hermione.

"Be careful Ronald, I know where you sleep," Hermione shot a bored expression his way, her hands digging around in her bag before she found a copy of the Daily Prophet and unfold the paper. I spotted a 'Wanted' poster on the back, Sirius Black's face still as deranged as it was before as he screamed at the camera. I felt a smirk take over my face, a bit of pride knowing he was still safe somewhere Godric knew where but Lupin said he'd take care of him.

"Can you believe they don't know who planned the attack!"

Sirius's face had been ripped from my sight, replace with a frowning Hermione as she waited for an answer.

"They did think it was us for a good hour," Hannah shrugged, pulling her legs to her chest as she rested her chin on top of them.

"Because the Ministry are idiots, have you've heard what they do to House Elf's?"

She handed Hannah and me the paper, pointing to an article about a "new and improved method to make your House Elf obey." My heart dropped deep in my chest, the idea that House Elf's were treated this poorly. I thought back to poor Diddy, who spent her time cleaning our house when we could easily do it ourselves, missing her family and not having a moment of peace. Who were we to keep House Elf's, even if we treated her fine, she didn't deserve this.

"This is cruel!" Hannah pointed at a quote directly from Mr. Malfoy himself, talking about branding his new House Elf.

"Don't strain yourself, we haven't even arrived at Hogwarts yet," Harry slowly pulled the paper from Hannah's hand. I watched him slowly sneak a peek at the article we were referring to.

"(Y/N), stop moving," Ron hit my side, making me frown and pull at his hair.

"Ow!"

"Wake up, Sleeping Beauty," I smiled as he slowly opened his eyes, a frown on his face as he looked me directly in the eyes.

"You're mean."

"She's the nicest person in the compartment," Harry shrugged, holding his laugh down as he looked at Ron's bird nest hair.

"She's nice until she takes your bed in the middle of the night!"

The silence of the compartment lasted maybe three seconds before little giggles fell from each out lips, Ron frowning even deeper when Hermione started to hold her stomach.

"I have a brush in my bag, Ronald," holding out a small purple brush that Hermione had been using since our first year. Ron rolled his eyes, turning around to sleep on the window seal but I grabbed his shoulder and moved down for him. He smiled triumphantly, moving to sleep on my shoulder while he murmured a quick 'thank you'.

Conversation flowed from one to another the rest of the ride, some serious while others made no sense. I felt my body relax into the seat, happy to see the incident hadn't been bigger than we thought as everything had calmed down and was falling back to normal.
