Pawblo and Cataloupe had returned to the house, and they were now walking to the patio door. When they stepped out, Pawblo was surprised. It was decorated nicely. Plants could be seen in pots on the side of the fence. Strings of lights kept the area well lit while the sun was setting. There stood the patio table with chairs.

"This is a really nice patio! You're lucky to have a place like this." Pawblo smiled slightly as he sat down. Cataloupe sat across from him. "Well, it was in the family, and I just happened to be in it. What was your old place like, back in TCP?"

Pawblo coughed a little, looking down. "I, uh, lived in an....let's just say it was a broken place." He felt a little sad thinking about it. Cataloupe scratched his neck. "Sorry if I brought back bad memories. Sometimes I just don't think about what words leave my mouth. I can be kind of a klutz." Pawblo beamed a smile and blushed. "I don't mind."

The older ventrexian smiled back. "Alright, then. Let's eat, shall we?" Pawblo nodded, and soon grabbed food from the bag, leaving the rest for Cataloupe. As the two of them ate, they talked, joked, and laughed. They were enjoying each other's company very much.

"Well this was a great dinner. Thank you." Pawblo felt happy. "You're welcome. Only the best for my top ranked cadet." Cataloupe smiled a little. "I'm just glad that you took my date—I mean, dinner offer! Dinner. I was....kind of worried you wouldn't, heh." He blushed a little, nervously smiling and letting out a chuckle.

Pawblo was taken aback by Cataloupe's words. He thought this was a date. It made him feel good. "No no! It's fine. This....this date is nice." The older male's ears perked when he heard Pawblo's response. He felt more encouraged to be more flirtatious. "So are you." He winked as he placed one of his giant paws on Pawblo's paw.

Both of their feelings were as clear as crystal.

Cataloupe slowly leaned across the table and placed his lips on Pawblo's. The smaller ventrexian was surprised at this action, but soon melted into the kiss. Cataloupe's mustache was ticklish, and made Pawblo laugh quietly. As they kissed, thoughts began to flood Pawblo's head, making him feel worried. The kiss ended quickly, as Pawblo pulled away, blushing madly. "Wha....n-no." Cataloupe was confused as he wiped his mouth. "Beg your pardon?"

"This was a mistake. That kiss was a mistake. I....y-you're a General! I'm a cadet. I'm supposed to listen to your orders and thats it." He stood up from the table. "You're even older than me! God damnit, why did I fall in love with you??" He covered his face with his hands. Cataloupe felt bad, knowing that he was the cause of this. He stood up and walked over to Pawblo, pulling him into a hug. "There, there. Look, don't feel bad. I'm in love with you too, and all this time you've been under my supervision, I've thought the same thing."

Pawblo looked up at Cataloupe. "R-really? But....I'm nothing. You have a legacy here, in this nice house and in that base.....Why would you even want a guy like me?" The older male pulled him closer. "It's because....you're a great guy. I never really met anyone who had a desire for a man like myself. It's also kind of hard to resist your qualities, like your fur or your fighting spirit. That's why.....I want to try it. This thing between us. Whatever that may be. I'm all in.....unless you don't want to."

The smaller ventrexian looked away, thinking about this for a minute. "We.....we would get a lot of hate if anyone at the base found out about this." Cataloupe nodded. "I understand. If it means I can be with you, then I'm alright." Pawblo smiled lightly. "If that applies for me too, then......yeah. I want to be your boyfriend."

Cataloupe grinned widely. "That makes me your boyfriend too, my little crumpet." He ruffled Pawblo's hair tuft. "Crumpet? Really?" Pawblo chuckled. "You have to do better than that, Whiskers." The two of them laughed together, and soon decided that they should clean up the mess that the left after eating.

They slept together that night, holding one another in each other's arms.
