Pawblo knocked on the door to Cataloupe's office. He was summoned to his office while he was doing his usual workout routine at the gym.

"Enter", said Cataloupe from the other side of the room. Pawblo opened the door and closed it behind him. He saw his lover smiling, and more peppy than usual. "Is....something going on?" He began to feel a little nervous.

"I wanted to tell you the news privately, Cadet....or should I say....Soldier." Cataloupe smirked. "You've moved up your rank." Pawblo couldn't believe what he just heard. He was excited. "No way! I'm....I'm not a rookie anymore?!" He didn't know what to say. "You did something, didn't you??"

Cataloupe nodded his head, curling his mustache with his finger. "I didn't do anything. No special treatment, remember?" He chuckled. "That was all you. And I'm proud of you, baby." Pawblo felt happy, knowing that it was his own hard work that led him to becoming a full-fledged soldier.

The big ventrexian pulled out two wine glasses and a bottle of champagne from under his desk. "I think this calls for a celebration, don't you?" Pawblo nodded. "It does, haha." He sat down in front of his desk and held up one of the wine glasses. "Mind pouring me some?" "You got it, soldier." Cataloupe happily poured some champagne from the bottle into both glasses.

"How does it feel moving up a rank?"

"I feel...pretty good."

Cataloupe took a sip of his wine. "I'm happy for you. It means that you'll be fighting with me, side by side. Which means more time together, if you get me." He winked, causing the two of them to chuckle. "Yeah, it'll be cool."

As they drank champagne, they chatted for a bit about their day, and how they felt relationship-wise. Cataloupe talked about his family, and how he had nobody left.

"Not even a sibling or cousin?"

"Nope. I'm the only one in my family's line of armymen left. Luckily, I'm not going down so easy." He let out a small smile, making him feel a little less depressed. Pawblo nodded. "I...never knew my parents. It was up to me to push myself out there and get my life going. No one was there to teach me to ride a bike or fix an engine....it was all me."

Cataloupe kept quiet, feeling a little saddened over hearing about his lover's life. He wanted to help him. "What if....there was a way to find out who your family is? Would you take that chance?" Pawblo's ears perked up. "There's a way?" The bigger male nodded. "We could alway do a DNA test here at one of the labs. Results don't take that long to receive back. And since you're here, it's free of charge."

Pawblo fidgeted in his seat. "I....I don't know....I felt a little fine without knowing who they were....but at the same time, I feel alone." Cataloupe put down his wine glass and placed his paws on Pawblo's. "You're not alone. You have me. Don't worry." He smiled lightly. "If you need me, I'll be there." He gripped his paws a little tighter.

The cornflower blue ventrexian blushed. He felt lucky to have such a kind and caring boyfriend like Cataloupe. "Thank you. I'll.....I'll do it. And I want you to be there when the results are ready." The General nodded. "Like I've told you before, my love. I'll be there with you. All the way."

Pawblo leaned across the desk and pressed his lips on Cataloupe's. The two slowly melted into the kiss. They could feel each other's body heat just from the touch of their lips. When they pulled away, Pawblo felt a little embarrassed, yet calm at the same time.

"S-sorry, I.....I just love you a lot." He felt happy. "And no, it's not the champagne talking, haha." Pawblo smiled.

"I feel the same, my little Blueberry." Cataloupe smiled back at his lover.

The cornflower blue ventrexian got up from the chair. "Well, I'll be out of your fur for the day. I'll see you when it's time to go, Cataloupe." He got up and was about to open the door. The General smirked and called him out. "Oh, you're free to get in my fur anytime, baby." He winked, making Pawblo blush a bright red. He soon walked out.

Cataloupe rubbed his eyes, smirking and feeling very happy and smitten. "Oh, Pawblo. You're going to drive me crazy. And I certainly don't mind that at all."
