It’s almost time for the concert. The Apollo cabin had this great idea to set up a concert to honor each god. Like love songs for Aphrodite and hard metal for Ares. We told Chiron the idea, and he agreed to it. We were going to play at fireworks’ beach after dinner. The beach is used for the Hephaestus cabin to do a fireworks show every 4th of July. Since it was the Apollo cabin who thought of the idea, Apollo will be the one to honor the concert to. The Apollo kids thought of no better leader than me, so I agreed.
We sold tickets for the concert. Sadly we had to give it to the camp store to pay for the expenses. Everyone was in the Big House preparing for the show. The Aphrodite cabin willingly offered their help for us. They chose yellow sundresses with an orange bow as the belt. The boys wore yellow t-shirts with suspenders; they look pretty goofy in them.
Lacy, a blond Aphrodite girl offered to do my makeup. I suddenly heard a knock on the door.
I answered, “Come in”.
Leo came in with a bouquet of flowers. I looked at him, Lacy, and then the flowers.
I looked at Lacy and asked, “Could you-”
Lacy winked at me. “Oh sure, I’m done anyway.”
She then giggled her way out the door. I sighed; she was probably going to tell everyone about the flowers. I didn’t expect anything less than a gossipy Aphrodite kid. Leo shuffled uncomfortably, and then he extended his arm showing the flowers. He turned as red as the roses in the bouquet, along with lilies and carnation. It was very beautiful, too beautiful. The work of a Demeter kid I bet.
“These are for you.”
I said sarcastically, “Really? I would have never guessed.”
I took the flowers and suddenly he felt a bit calmer. I took a whiff of the flowers, they were a good combination. I was impressed on whoever conjured up these flowers together.
Leo said, “Good luck out there.”
“Thanks, I need it.”
Leo then left the building, probably going to head out to the concert. I set the flowers on the table. Then I walked out the door.
The concert was awesome, everyone did a great job. We sang some pretty cool songs like “Soak Up the Sun”, “Bubbly”, and “Brighter than the Sun”. All of the songs either had to have something about sun or the artist’s father is Apollo. As we ended our concert with the sounds of whooping and applause, a huge bright light appeared before us. Standing before me was this guy, probably around his 20s. He had sandy, blond hair. He wore sunglasses and looked pretty hot and it seemed like he had a cheerful personality. He wore a red tank top that had a logo of a smiling sun in sunglasses. He also wore denim jeans and red vans.
He grabbed the mike. “Hello campers, Lord Apollo here. I happened to drive by, and I just couldn’t resist.”
Everyone started to kneel towards Apollo, followed by the Apollo cabin and me.
“Oh stop it. Your making me blush. You can all stand up; you guys are making me feel older than I really imagine myself.”
Everyone stood up again. Apollo went towards his kids.
“Great job you guys, you make me proud.”
Will Solace then step forward. “T-thank you father.”
He then walked towards me a pat me on the back.
“You’re a great leader, why you sing better than the 9 muses.”
I blushed. “Thank you Lord Apollo, but I can’t possibly be better than-”
He interrupted, “I’m not kidding. I taught the muses myself. You have more talent than Calliope. Or maybe Clio.”
