Jace

Clary and I finally made it home after being stuck in Chicago by one of Kurofsky's traps. Kurt is my cousin and I felt bad about making him leave me and Clary behind because I knew that it was a great rule that shadowhunters never do but I couldn't let Kurofsky get to Kurt because he doesnt know it but Kurt has a great power that if put into the wrong hands then it would be the end of all shadowhunters.

"We're almost there Clary. Just hold on." I said to my comatose girlfriend. Clary used the last of her energy to make us a rune to get home. She looked so peaceful so I just carried her in my arms to the institue. We got inside and Sam automatically took her from my arms so he and Rachel could treat her. I said that I had no wounds and proceeded to head to my room until I saw a familiar person in the lounge. So I walked over and cleared my throat.

"Hello stranger."

"Jace?" The person said, turning around. Kurt.

"Hey." I said opening my arms. It was like a blur because Kurt went from punching me and shouting profaniaties to crying in my arms and hugging me. I hugged him back and patted his back, shedding a few tears because I knew how he felt. I thought I'd never see him or Hunter again.

"I'm so glad that you are okay." He choked out.

"Cheer up now, I'm here and alive. Clary is too. She got us both out."

"Where is she?" He asked, wiping his face.

"Rachel and Sam are treating her. Is Hunter okay?"

"He's fine. He's getting better at his training."

"Anything on Kurofsky?" I asked.

"No, Nothing yet but we're all staying alert. Actually, you need to know something."

"I got it Kurt. It took a while to find it and figure out how to work the machine but I got it-" Blaine said coming in with the bowl. He stopped when he saw Jace.

"Jace, meet Blaine. Blaine, meet Jace."

"Hi." Blaine said shyly.

"Hello. Uh Kurt?" I said, looking at Kurt."

"Well I was out patrolling and I happened to meet Blaine here who is a fallen angel. I brought him here and he's going to live here until we can find a way for him to get back up there. Downworlders found a way up there and attacked heaven."

"Well that's a problem. Anyways, welcome Blaine. Was I interrupting something?" I asked the shy yet scared boy.

"Um n-no you didn't. Kurt and I were just about to watch a movie."

"Oh well then continue on. I'm just going to get some rest. Night Kurt."

"Night Jace. I'll let you know when Clary wakes."

"Thanks."

I walked upstairs and headed to my room.

Blaine

I sat on the couch next to Kurt and started the movie. I wondered who that guy was and where he came from. Was that is boyfriend? Kurt told me that he was gay and I have no problem with it. Wait, why do I care? Kurt and I are just friends. Even though I don't want to be friends but I don't want to scare him. My thoughts were broken by a sniffle and I blinked, looking over to see Kurt trying not to cry.

"Kurt? Are you okay?"

"Yeah yeah my contacts are just hurting me."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah I'm fine."

"Kurt, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure, anything." He said, pausing the movie. I looked at him and sat up, taking a breath before asking. I needed to know.

"Um, that guy that you were talking to...is he your um is he your boyfriend?"

"Jace? No way! No no no Blaine, he's Hunter and I's cousin. Jace is straight and has a girlfriend named Clary. She's really nice."

"Oh, you just sounded upset when you saw him."

"Yeah well you see it happened 3 years ago. I had just become a shadowhunter and I was angry when I found out that Hunter was kidnapped and no one was doing a thing about it. So I went off to find him but Jace and Clary wanted to help me. I was reluctant but I let them come with me. We found out that Hunter was in Chicago which is why no one could find him but we were able to find him and rescued him. When we were making our way back, Jace and Clary were caught in a trap but Hunter and I made it out."

He stopped to swallow and take a breath. His eyes were threatening to spill tears so I walked over and wrapped my arms around him, rubbing his back. He put his head on my chest and I just held onto him as he continued.

"I tried to go back for them but they were trapped really good and the place was going to lock down and crumble. But I didnt care. All I cared about was getting them out because the one rule that a shadowhunter had to follow was to never leave anyone behind. But Jace made me leave. So I did on his orders and all I could think about for the last 3 three years was how stupid I was for leaving them behind."

"Oh Kurt, I'm so sorry."

"I blamed myself for three years and just blocked everyone out. I depended on only myself to take care of Hunter and myself since that day."

"It wasn't your fault. I understand how you feel. I have a sister and we were always so close when we were alive. But one night, we got into a car crash coming from seeing our favorite musical. We died and ever since then, we were still close. I always protected her until I fell down here. Now I feel like we're separated again."

"Blaine.."

"I just miss her so much. I would do anything to get back up there."

"You'll get up there soon enough. I promise."

"How can I promise that?"

"Because I always keep my promises."

"Thank you."

We hugged and I felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I felt like I knew him more than I ever got to know someone. I think I might be falling for Kurt Hummel.

I think I'm falling for Blaine Anderson.
