Tine watched from the bed as Wat dressed himself. He couldn't help but admire the shape of his body.

The broad shoulders, the muscled chest, the chiselled abs and the clean cut V of his pelvis that dipped to his....

Stop it, Tine.

They had just spent the last night and most of the morning making love, before passing out exhausted in each other's arms.

It was almost evening now.

No, not making love. Fucking.

Tine always hated this part. When Wat would leave him, and he wouldn't know when he would call again.

"Same as always, right?" asked Wat, smiling at Tine as he buttoned his cuffs.

Tine swallowed and nodded. Even after nearly a year together, this part made him hate himself.

Wat touched his phone's screen and Tine's phone chimed.

"Thank you" he whispered, his voice coated with shame and self-loathing.

Wat sat on the edge of the bed to tie his shoelaces. Tine reached out a hesitant hand towards his back, but stopped shy of touching him.

Wat stood up, oblivious to Tine's wistful fingers. He picked up his coat, phone and wallet.

"Wat" called out Tine, in a tremulous voice.

"Yes, Tine?" asked Wat with a small sigh. He knew what was coming.

"Say something" said Tine in a voice so low that it barely reached across the room to where Wat stood, one hand on the doorknob.

Wat turned to look at Tine, who sat naked and vulnerable under the sheets on the bed.

"I love you" he said, tonelessly.

Tine nodded and Wat walked out of the room.

The small click of the door closing resounded in the room. Tine waited for five seconds before he broke down, crying.

About One Year Ago

"P'Tine, can you put one more spoon of rice in my lunch box please? I feel really hungry by the last lesson and I kind of lose track of what the teacher says in class" said Nova, the precocious six year old diva, making big, round eyes at her older brother.

"Of course, sweetie" said Tine, even though his heart plummeted to his stomach. He had very strict portioning to adhere to if all the kids had to be fed.

He scooped up a spoonful from his own lunch box and added it to hers, and a spoonful each for the three older ones as well.

If Nova was hungry, the others would be too. They probably just weren't telling him.

Delta cooed and blew a raspberry. He wriggled actively as Tine held his hand to stop him from running. He was already more than two years old now.

Indigo and Violet, the eleven year old twins, came in to help Nova and their four year old brother Scooter get ready for school.

The twins were neatly dressed in their school uniforms, hair combed and tied up into tight ponytails. They each caught one young one and set about washing their faces and dressing them up.
