A Year Of Confusion (Lily Evans x Reader)

Chapter Two

I climbed out of bed pretty early so that I could head down to the common room and read by the fire. It was around one when I walked down the stairs and into the common room. All that was left of the fire was red hot embers, but that was fine because it would be easy to start back up.

Once the fire was going instead of reading like I planned on doing I watched the flames dance. The Orange and yellow moving rapidly when a gust of wind would go by. I even saw little fire people dancing around, But that might have been from my lack of sleep. I pulled out my necklace with a picture of Mum and Dad in it and stared to look at it. "What where you hiding from me?" I questioned quietly. I stared at Mum and saw the same locket around her neck. Dad was simply smiling, but there was something about it that didn't sit right with me.

Closing the locket and putting it back around my neck, I picked up my book and started reading.
I don't know how long I was reading, but eventually I felt a tap on my shoulder and a very confused looking lily standing over me. "What are you doing up?" She asked. "Umm, reading. Why are you up?" I questioned. "Head Girl duty's, I'm supposed to kick you back to your dorm, but I'll let you stay here and read while I go talk to McGonagall about my first day." She smiled, my eyes turned a slight pink as I watched her small dimples appear from her smile. "Ready lily?" James called, lily nodded and they went out the portal hole to go talk to McGonagall.

By the time everyone started heading to breakfast I had finished my book. I sat next to James and we started messing around. "Your a git you know that?" I laughed. "I might be a git, but are git's Head Boy?" He asked. I looked from him to McGonagall and back to him. " apparently they can be." I laughed, My eyes shifting to a light shade of yellow. "Got it." James said and started writing something in a journal. "What do you got?" I asked. "We've been friends for our entire life's and I don't have a guide to your emotions, so far I have gold as lying, pink as love, deep blue as sad, red as angry and yellow as happy." He smiled. "Your missing anxiety and hate." I said. "Well all I have to do for hate is wait for Steven to walk by." James laughed. I gagged at the thought and my eyes went from yellow to a light green. "Green got it." James said. I rolled my eyes, James just laughed. "Oh and also, I know you where lying about being fine yesterday, I'm not that stupid." He smiled. "Come on, your totally that stupid." I said and he smacked my arm lightly. "You know what I mean." He complained.

  I walked to potions with Lily and Remus, while James, Sirius and Peter had charms. As I sat down I saw Steven and my eyes when from y/e/c to green. Both Lily and Remus pulled out a pice of paper and looked at it before nodding and shoving it back in there bags. I turned to them and rolled my eyes as they slowly changed back to normal. "Did James give you a copy?" I asked and they looked at each other before nodding. I shook my head and took my seat, Lily on one side of me and Remus on the other.

  Potions was quit uneventful. my locket fell of in the middle of class, I could have sworn I clasped it right but then again I was sleep deprived. When the locket fell dads picture slid out a little bit and I just slid it back into place. This time I had lily clasp it for me so that I knew it was actually clasped.

  After Potions I had Care Of Magical Creatures with James and Peter. This was Peters favorite class, except for the some times 'scary' animals Professor Kettleburn would bring in. Today's lesson was about dragons so Peter should do ok considering dragons are his favorite animal. 

  Halfway through Care Of Magical Creatures the voices started to come back. "I want her, she's strong." "What are you talking about?" "The girl, strong willed, strong power." "But, she's untouchable." "Why is that?" "Because of me." James shook my shoulder and looked at me. "Are you ok, your eyes turned purple, I don't know what that means." He said. "Anxiety James, Purple means anxiety." I said and walked away from him so I could take a seat.

During lunch I disused to talk to Dumbledore.

  "Umm McGonagall, do you think I could see Professor Dumbledore?" I asked, she nodded and walked me to his office. She opens the door and allowed me to step inside. His office was huge, big pictures of previous headmasters covered the walls. "You wanted to see me Miss Y/L/N?" Dumbledore asked and I nodded. "I-I've been hearing Mum and Dad, and another man. They just started having a conversation, like at first it was mum saying no, then me yelling for dad, and it's developed into full on conversations where I don't hear anything but them." I said. It felt good to get it off my chest finally. "The answer Lies within." He said pointing at my heart. "You can't do more then that?" I asked and he smiled. "You'll know more when the time comes." He said. I nodded and reluctantly left the room.

  "He knows exactly what happed." I said and I punched a wall. "How do you know?" Remus asked. "I read it, his mind, well kinda. It was kinda difficult. But there was definitely something he wasn't telling me." I said, turning to face Remus, who was leaning against the wall. "Well, Maybe it's something you don't need to know." Remus shrugged. "Ya."

  I laid awake staring at the ceiling. Lily walked in with a cup of water. "Here drink this." She smiled, handing me the water. I took a sip and it left a horrible taste in my mouth. "Eww, what did you put in this?" I asked and she smiled. "Dreamless sleep potion, we all have noticed your lack of sleep, even teachers. So they gave you permission to sleep in tomorrow." She smiled.  "Thank you lily." I yawned and within seconds I was out.
