A Year Of Confusion (Lily Evans x Reader)

Chapter Three

It's been a few weeks, lily has confessed to me that she likes James. Thank the gods she hadn't memorized the list's because my eyes turned dark blue as soon as she said that. She even asked what was wrong but I lied making my eyes go gold. She was skeptical at first, but soon dropped it.

   "James hasn't asked me out I'm like a week, I'm getting scared." She said and I laughed. "He's probably trying to  do something really big." I smiled. "I hope so." She smiled, a blush finding its way to her cheeks.

  "James what the hell are you doing?" I asked. "What do you mean?" He asked. "You haven't asked lily out in like a week, whats up?" I asked. James sighed and sat down. "I'm tired of being rejected." He said. My eyes widened. "James She plainer on saying yes, now you need to do something super big." I said and he jumped up. "Yes!" He exclaimed and ran up to his dorm before I could say anything more. "Well." I sighed.

  Lily was smiling like and idiot for the rest of the week after James asked her out. I was trying to be happy for her and James but it was hard see them happy together.

  "Why would you do that?" Remus asked. "She's happy is she not?" I Questioned. "Well ya, bu-there's nothing else to it Remus. If she's happy I'm happy." I said with a fake smile. "That's the thing y/n, your not happy." He said and grabbed my hand. "But She is." I said and pulled my hand from his, placing it on my locket and looking at Mum and Dads picture.
      Remus grabbed my hand and pulled it off of my necklace. "Stop with the necklace!" Remus exclaimed. "It doesn't make any sense, why them Remus!" I Yelled. "I don't know, but you need to drop it before it kills you." He said. "I can't just stop digging, it's all I ever think about." I said. Remus pulled me into a hug and started to mess my hair up. "It's ok, but maybe it's a mystery that dose doesn't need solving." He said, I nodded into his chest and then just sat there.

   After a while I fell asleep and Remus set me on the couch, where I woke up with my necklace laying on the ground next to me. I picked it up and opened it to revel dads picture was missing. I jumped off the couch and caught Remus walking into the common room. "Hey! Where's the picture!" I asked, Remus gave me a confused look and I showed him the locket without my dads picture. "Where is the picture?" I asked. Remus  pointed at the locket. "It's right there." He said. I turned the locket around and dads picture laid right where it was supposed to. I quickly took it out of the locket and saw that the picture was folded. As soon as I unfolded it my head started to hurt. I saw a boy no older then what I am now. His hair was jet black and he had a Slytherin scarf on. His eyes were like dark wholes. I turned over the picture, it had dads initials as the boys, T.M.R. I looked up and locked eyes with Remus. "It's almost Christmas break, maybe you could go with Jam-No I think I'll stay here." I said and walked away from Remus and back to my room.

When I opened the door lily was just sitting there. "Dang James." She sighed. "What'd He Do?" I asked. "He's going home for Christmas break so I have to stay and take care of the head girl and boy duty's." She sighed and fell back on her bed. "It won't be that bad, I'm staying here for Christmas break to." I said and she jumped up. "We can stay up and do our nails and hair a-don't go that far lils." I laughed. "Aww why not?" She wined. "Because I don't want want do my hair, and I bite my nails to much for them to be done." I laughed. "We have a week til Christmas Break, I want you to not bite your nails for a week." She said and I gasped. "A week, that's impossible." I said over dramatically. Lily rolled her eyes. "I am not a goof." I said and her eyes widen. "I forgot you can read minds." She said. "Wait, that's actually what you where thinking?" I asked and she gave me a confused look. "What do you mean?" She Questioned. "Oh, I can't actually read your mind, everyone else I can but I've never been able to get into yours." I said and she smiled. "Hah, I'm better then Everyone else." She laughed. I rolled my eyes as the turned a light shade of pink. "Oo, who are you thinking about, your eyes went pink." She smiled. "Umm, Remus." I said shyly, trying to sell it. "That makes so much sense it's not even fun." She laughed. "I thought it wasn't funny." I said and she rolled her eyes.
