-----------

Words didn't seam to describe how I was feeling right now. Every time I tried to string together a sentence the letters didn't hold enough power to express my feelings.

Funeral speeches are always full of lies that hide the truth. Every word is sugarcoated and changed for others that carry kinder messages. It doesn't matter if they're lies.

Everyone lies.

The ink in my pen slowly drained onto the paper with every lie I wrote.

How he was such a lovely Brother and that I could rely on him whatever the weather.

Once I had written my speech I took a shower and started to get ready.

Me being the short person I am my dress reached just above my knee, making it socially acceptable to wear to a funeral.

I had curled my hair allowing it to flow into my shoulders. Just how he used to like it...

------

"You look beautiful" Ashton was wearing a black suit, which might I say looked rather nice on him.

"Thank you, so do you" he smiled back at me, making me blush a little bit.

The tension was still noticeable between us after the other day. Neither of us had said a word about it since.

"Let's get this over with" my uncle shoved past us and walked towards to the car.

His outfit was no different to any other day. He always chose to wear a suit, even when he wasn't working.

The three of us shuffled into the car, and after what seamed like forever we'd finally arrived at the church.

It was huge. The windows were stain glass, each with a unique colour and pattern.

Even on this dull morning they still seamed to brighten the place up.

However the fact that the church was surrounded by a graveyard didn't help ease my nerves. Just the thought of my brother being in the ground makes me sick to the stomach.

"Oh, Charlotte I haven't seen you in ages!" The woman in front of me had interrupted my thoughts. In someway I'm glad, I needed to stop thinking like that.

She looked fairly familiar, but just like many of my relatives here, I had no idea who she was.

"You too" I smiled at her then peered over to Ashton. "This is Ashton, he's my friend from England"

She eyed him up and down, giving him a rude, unapproved glare.

She leaned closer to me an whispered in my ear.

"Don't make anymore stupid mistakes" before I could react she'd stomped away, leaving a echo throughout the hallway.

"What was that about?" Ashton shoved his hands into his pockets while giving me a confused look.

"Oh, I-err- don't know" I tried my best to avoid eye contact otherwise he'd know I was lying. "lets just get in there, my uncles probably waiting"

We both sat down on the back row, just in case I needed a quick getaway.

After a few people gave speeches, it was finally my turn.

I stood up, smoothed my dress down, and quickly made my way to the podium. The sooner this speech was over the better.

I looked down and my paper and started to read the words my eyes saw.

"My brother was never one to like churches. I remember that when we were around five he'd never step foot in one, not because he was being stubborn, he just didn't feel comfortable inside them. It might've been that in some way he felt watched. Every move you make is being judged, every decision holding your future. Everywhere you go. Everything you do. Everything you say. In the long run everything's going to effect you and your future. Even the small things add up. I guess I'm not exactly the best person to take advise from but my brother was. He taught me that keeping your head up high and trying your hardest will help you succeed. So even when he didn't want to go inside the church, he'd still take one of his tiny feet in front of the other, hold his head, full of perfectly combed hair, high and walk inside that church as if nothing could stand in his way"

Just as I was about to get down I heard a loud clap come from the back of the church.

As everyone, including me, turned their heads I heard a thick blanket of silence fill the air.

The blond haired blue eyed boy was leaning against the wooden pillar on the right wing of the room.

He had one eyebrow raised and a smirk plastered across his face.

"Quite a good speech you've written there. But why don't you tell them how you really feel"
