The sounds of horse hooves echoed through the abandoned village of Ragako as Moblit and a couple of Scouts arrived.

"The report was right," Moblit observed. "The whole village has been devasted. "But there's not a drop of blood, let alone any bodies."

"It's eerie," a Scout responded. "Still. Maybe they got out? It's not unheard of."

"In theory, I suppose," Moblit replied, looking back. "But then the question becomes why Titans would smash empty houses? Bit difficult to believe."

He walked forward to the stable.

"Once more, how far were these people hoping to get by leaving their horses here?" He added, looking back at the others.

"That's a good point," the Scout admitted. "So what do you think happened?"

"Moblit!" A Scout shouted, running over. "I found it! Look!"

They turned to see the immobile Titan.

"There you are," Moblit said, approaching it.

"You, uh..." A Scout trailed, walking up behind him. "You should see this."

Moblit turned, taking a portrait of a man and woman from him.

"A portrait of Conny Springer's parents, I assume?" Moblit asked.

"Seems very likely, sir," the Scout replied.

Moblit lifted the picture, comparing it to the Titan.

The Titan's eyes shifted, causing them to reel back in fear.

The Titan struggled, attempting to stand up.

"It's alive!" One of the Scouts exclaimed, pulling out his swords.

"No!" Moblit exclaimed, blocking him from killing it. "Stand down!"

The Titan fell back in a huff.

Moblit looked down to see the picture of Conny's parents upside down.

He lifted it up, gasping in shock.

It looked exactly like Conny's mother.

"What the hell is going on?!" Moblit muttered in disbelief.

Bertholdt and Reiner watched in shock as the Scouts drew closer.

Bertholdt turned, gripping Reiner's shoulders.

"Talk to me, Reiner," he demanded. "What are you right now?"

"A warrior," Reiner responded. "Calm down."

"Do you really think it's wise for us to trust Ymir?" Bertholdt asked, shifting his eyes back to her. "Even though she's the one who devoured Marcel?"

"Sure," Reiner replied. "Don't you see? We have a handle on her motives. When she turned human again, odds are she just wandered around aimlessly only giving a damn about herself. But then Christa came into the picture. That's the kind of girl that can change your whole world. We need her, and not just because she's cute. The people she comes from are an important family within the church. Plus, suppose Eren's not the coordinate? Our job wouldn't be over. If it comes to that, having Christa around will make the search a lot easier."

Bertholdt gasped as more smoke flares shot up.

"They're close," he observed.

"What are they talking about?" Eren wondered, looking up at them. "They still plan on clearing out before sundown or not?"
