Hange and Moblit watched as soldiers pulled away Annie's crystal behind a wagon.
"What the--?" A soldier gasped as a crowd murmured in shock.
"Guys look!" Another exclaimed, pointing up at the Wall.
"Wh- What is that?!" A soldier stammered in disbelief.
Hange and Moblit turned to see what they were looking at.
A Colossal Titan.
Its face stuck out from a piece of Wall Sina that Annie had clawed off in her escape attempt.
Its eyes were unblinking, almost as if it hibernating as its fleshy skin glowed under the shadows of the setting Stohess sun.
"It's a Titan!" a soldier stated in shock.
"In the Wall?" Another added. "Impossible!"
Hange and Moblit ran up to the crowd, staring up at the giant monster.
"Section Commander," Moblit stammered to Hange. "Your orders?"
"Uh. Well, I'm not sure," she stuttered in shock.
"Is... Is this just a coincidence, or...?" Hange thought as she stared up at the creature's unblinking eyes. "Oh, no. Surely, it doesn't mean!"
A hand gripped her shoulder, breaking her out of thought as she looked over in shock.
Pastor Nick huffed as he caught his breath, obviously running there as fast as he could.
"Listen to me," Nick gasped. "Whatever else you do, don't let sunlight touch it!!!"
Hange stared at him in shock as their gazes locked.
(Stohess Capital)
"For the time being, we've covered the Wall Titan with sheets," a Scout reported to Erwin. "It seems to be holding up. Further measures will be taken after sundown, Commander."
"Understood," Erwin responded as he walked forward down a hallway.
"Forgive me, sir," the Scout apologized. "But what are we supposed to make of all this? I mean, I never imagined there could be Titans inside the Walls."
"Why would you?" Erwin asked. "No one did. There are only those who knew and those of us completely in the dark."
(Nearby)
Marlowe stood staring at the carnage laid before him and Hitch.
"Why are they keeping quiet about this?" He muttered to himself. "It's an earth-shattering discovery for god's sake! What's the point of playing it off?"
"Status Quo, right?" Hitch responded. "Yeah, higher-ups play it close to the vest. All this carnage and they couldn't even be bothered to come up with a decent cover story."
Tears welled in her eyes as she looked over at Marlowe.
"Is... this all our fault?" She asked as she sobbed.
Marlowe responded by pulling her into a hug as she sobbed into his shoulder.
(Wall Sina)
Hange stood atop the Wall as she stared Pastor Nick down.
"All right," she spoke after a long pause. "You wanna tell me what's going on? Why a Titan? What's the purpose? What on earth's the point of having one hidden inside the Wall? And why choose to keep it a secret? I need answers, and I'm going to need them right now."
Nick didn't respond as he stared off the side of the Wall at the entombed Titan.
After a pause, he sat up with a sigh.
"I don't have time for this nonsense," he hissed as he brushed off his robe. "I'm a busy man! My flock has been devasted! I demand restitution! Do you know who I am?!"
Hange and Moblit stared at him, nonresponsive.
"Let me down from here this instant!" Nick demanded in anger.
"If that's what you want!" Hange hissed, enraged.
She lunged forward, grabbing the Pastor by the collar and pulling him to the edge of the Wall.
"Will straight down do the trick?!" Hange growled as she held the man off the Wall.
Nick cried out in fear as the other soldiers stared at Hange in shock.
"Commander!" Moblit screamed in shock, reaching out.
"Hold!" Hange ordered, causing him to freeze.
She turned her attention back to the quivering man as he struggled in her grasp.
"Let me ask you something," Hange hissed. "Do you have any concept of how many Scouts have laid down their lives fighting these monsters?! More than you can count! They died fighting for your freedom! I was with them! I was willing to lay down my own life! Now, you can explain, or you take the plunge. Your choice. I can always move on to the next blowhard. Matter of fact, they'd probably know more than you anyway. Why am I bothering?!"
Hange pushed the man farther as he struggled against her.
"Let go!" Nick yelled. "Unhand me!"
"That's kind of what I had in mind," Hange growled in response.
"Do it!" Nick demanded as Hange stared at him in shock.
"Don't try to call my bluff!" she hissed in disbelief.
"Please, don't!" Moblit cried out behind her.
"You think I'm afraid to die in service of my beliefs?!" Nick shouted. "We fulfill our duty no matter the cost! I don't care!!!"
Nick shot out his arms, embracing death.
"THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD!!!" He screamed. "LET HIS HUMBLE SERVANT FALL!!!"
Nick laid back in her grasp, awaiting Hange's judgment.
"Lord," he whispered. "Grant release."
Hange pulled Nick up, tossing him across the top of the Wall.
She chuckled as she sat down, her legs dangling off the edge.
"Lighten up," she laughed. "I was just kidding around."
Nick huddled in fear on the ground, his breath quivering.
"C'mon Pastor Nick. Spill it," Hange sighed. "Are all the Walls made of Titans? At least tell me that much."
"Section Commander?" Moblit asked in worry as he walked over to her.
"Ugh," Hange complained. "How long's it been since I felt like this? Wow. Must've been when I stepped outside the Walls for the first time. Talk about terrifying."
The city bell began to ring as Hange looked over.
A soldier named Tomas rode through the gate, a look of horror shrouding his face.
"The Titans have breached Wall Rose!" He screamed out as they looked at him in shock.
