Marinette and Bridgette were getting ready for school, Bridgette was in the bathroom brushing her hair and teeth, while her sister was picking out an outfit to wear for the day. Marinette was always more of a fashionista, of course, being the one who had the dream of being a world-famous fashion designer.
Marinette walked over to her diary case, to find it open, and empty. She felt herself panic. It can't be missing, she writes everything in that thing, everything. She looked under her pillow, behind her computer, in her bag, any place she could have left it.
She quickly ran to her sister, knocking and opening the door, seeing her put her (longer) hair into her signature pigtails. "Hey, Bri, have you seen my diary, I can't find it anywhere?" Brigette sighed and shook her head, chuckling a bit. She loved her sister, she would take a bullet for her, but sometimes, she could be so forgetful.
"No, maybe you misplaced it. It would be the first time." She tried to reassure her, but she could still see the worry in her eyes. Why though? What did she write in there that she didn't want people to read?
"Yeah, you're probably right." Marinette went out of Brigette's line of sight and continued to search for her diary. She was throwing things all over the place, not leaving a piece of clothing untouched. Brigette was a little upset with this, as she had just cleaned their room the night before. Marinette looked up at her, seeing her downcast look and she stopped for a moment. "I'm sorry sis, I'll clean this all up later, I just really need to find it, I don't want anybody reading it."
Brigette's look went from upset to confuse, of course, she understood why she didn't want anyone to read it. No one wants someone to read their diary, but she made it sound different. "Why not? What secrets could you have written in there that's so important?" Marinette stopped her search and turned to face Bridgette. She took note of the look of panic that flashed in her eyes but didn't say anything of it.
"Oh, it's nothing. Why, have you read it?" She asked quickly, making her sister's suspicions grow.
"No Marinette, I haven't, but, if it'll make you feel better, I will help you look for it, but only after school. Now quickly get dresses, or you'll be late." Marinette sighed and got back up on her feet, changing into her clothes, and left, grabbing a quick croissant sprinting to school.
---On the school steps---
Adrien came out of his car and shut the door. Quietly, he thanked him, getting a grunt in return and he walked towards the school. He froze when he saw Marinette. The two of them had become closer since that incident on the first day of school. He went up to her but frowned upon seeing her downcast look.
"Hey, Marinette... What's wrong?" He asked comfortingly, he always hated seeing his down, it always got him worried that they would get akumatized. Yes, he, along with Ladybug, would capture their Akuma and turn them to normal, but he didn't like the thought of fighting them.
"Oh, hi Adrien, it's nothing, I'm fine." She waved it off, continuing her walk to her first period. Adrien followed along, not fully believing her, he always trusted his friends, they would have no reason to lie to him, but he felt the need to tell her that he'd always be there for her, even though that always went unsaid.
"Are you sure? You know you can talk to me." Marinette felt a blush rise to her cheeks when Adrien rested his hand on her shoulder. She cleared her throat.
"I know, thank you. I just lost something important, and I can't find it, but knowing me, I probably misplaced it, thanks for asking though." The gentle smile was back on his face, and it made Marinette almost melt to the floor. He pat her shoulder one more time, and Marinette did her best not to slap his hand away from her before she fell over.
