Dream walked along the edge of the ship, looking down at the waves below him. Every crew member he had passed would turn their heads and walk away. He felt bad and guilty at the fact that every hated him more now.

He rested his arms on the railing and looked out to the horizon. He knew from now on that things would be much more different. Everyone would ignore him more or even try to hurt him. Dream wished that they just liked him once again.

"I can help you." a voice said.

Dream turned around to see nobody there. No one was even near him. Then, wo said that? Dream looked back out, at the ocean, and saw that shadow figure again. It was closer this time and he could really see the thing. They both stared at each other not saying a thing. He didn't know what to say. Dream didn't even understand what was happening or why he was the only one who can see this figure.

"What are you?" Dream asked.

"I'm you, just...well older." the creatures voice was so crackly and it sent a chill down Dream's spine.

"You're me? But I...no. There's no way that you're me. I'm standing right here. Alive."

"True, but have you took in to consideration that I'm you from the past."

Before Dream could respond, the thing disappeared. A hand touched Dream's shoulder and he whipped around, afraid. Puffy looked at him and worry. She saw that he was just staring at the ocean and talking to himself.

"Duckling, you were talking to yourself. Are you sure you're ok? Why don't we find some land for you to rest." Puffy said.

"No, mom I'm..." He looked back at where the figure was, "I'm good."

                                                                  ---

Dream sat in his bed, thinking. What did that thing want? 'I'm you from the past.' What does that mean? Was I reincarnated? Was he telling the truth? All these thoughts kept him awake. He wanted to know the truth and why he kept seeing that thing. Dream wanted to ask it more questions.

He let himself fall asleep and dream. He dreamed about that empty void once again. A person, that looked just like him, stood there. The man wore a green outfit, with the white mask on from that figure from before. His hair was down on his shoulders, almost glistening. Dream wanted to reach for his sword, but there was no weapons in this place.

"W-who are you?" Dream asked.

"Didn't you hear me from earlier? I'm you."

Dream stepped back, scared. He didn't know what this man wanted, but he wanted it away from him.

"No you're not!" Dream yelled, "Just leave me alone!"

"Listen, I'm you from you're past life. If you want to learn more, take this mask." The man held out the mask towards Dream. His face had many scars on it.

Dream was scared to step forward. Afraid of the man. He finally got enough courage and walked over, looking over at the mask. He stopped walking so he was far enough, just in case the man decided to come at him. The smile stared at Dream, it made him feel safe. Why did it make him feel safe? He rubbed his fingers against it had looked at the cracks within it. That mask had been through a lot.

"What happened to this mask?" Dream asked, not looking at the man.

"You have lived many many lives, that's why its cracked." The man answered.

"Are you saying I'm a god?"

"No, we aren't. I'm from your past life. If you take this mask we'll be able to come back to life once again, after you die."

"But I don't remember being alive in your time, I guess."

"Well that's what happens, just take the mask and you'll understand."

Dream grabbed the mask, but didn't put it on. The man smiled. He obviously wanted Dream to put it on. Dream, instead, threw the mask on the floor and looked back up at the man.

"What will it do for me?" Dream asked, trying to hide his fear with anger.

"It'll protect you and make you stronger. It had done that so many times for us. Throughout our life Dreamon has protected you. Even if you don't, it'll still want to keep you safe. You are a vessel for it's poor little body."

"Dreamon? Was it that thing from earlier? Are you that creature?"

Before the man could respond, the void started to shake around them. It almost seemed like it was collapsing. The man lunged for the mask and put it on. He stared at Dream, who was struggling to stand straight. He held his hand out, wanting to not get hurt. It was too late. Dream had woken up.
