Dream and Callahan had been preparing to leave for a new land all throughout the night and into the morning. Their ship was brand new. They had bought it that night for a couple hundred gold. It had a beautiful teal outline and big sails, to propel them to anywhere they wanted to go. It had all the stuff they needed- food, water, armor, weapons, ammo, and gold. Puffy had helped them get ready before she left to go hunting for the treasure. As much as she didn't want to let them go, she knew she had to.

"Are you ready to leave?" Dream asked Callahan.

Callahan nodded.

"Ok, let's go" Dream said preparing the ship to sail off, onto the great oceans.

"Wait, before you go," Puffy said, digging something out of her bag. She stayed overnight to say goodbye to Dream and Callahan when they leave, in the morning. "I wanted to give you this."

Puffy gave something to Dream that was covered in a cloth. Dream took it and gasped at what it was. It was his fathers old knife named Nightmare. No one knew why he named it that, but they liked the name. He hugged his mother and smiled brightly. He was so thankful for this gift.

"I can't believe you found it. I thought it was lost at sea." Dream said, letting go of her.

"I did too, but I found it in a crate that has never been open since your father was on the ship." Puffy said, "And now you can bring his legacy with you on your journey."

"I will carry this with me everywhere mom, I promise."

Callahan hugged his mother and got on the ship. He checked the sails and waved over at Dream. Dream looked over his shoulder and knew it was time to leave. Tying the knife to his belt, he ran up the plank to the ship. Dream and Callahan both pulled the anchor above the water and ran to the side of the ship. They waved their parents away as they were gonna start their brand new journey. Both couldn't wait for what they would find up ahead.

                                                                                  ---

It had been many hours since they were on the sea, and they kept watch of everything around them. they both knew how to control a boat and what it takes. Dream checked out his map to see where they were going, while Callahan steered. Callahan hadn't been on a ship for a while so he loved the fresh ocean air. He was so happy to be alive and free.

"We want to head North." Dream said getting onto the quarterdeck, where Callahan was. "We are headed far out from the lands, where pirates explored, so we are gonna find new lands to explore.

"I can't wait. Hopefully there will be new friends." Callahan signed.

"Yeah, it will be great."

Dream felt his mask against his head and remembered what he had done. His smile faded away. Callahan noticed this, but didn't say anything. Dream got up and headed up to the crows nest, where he took the mask off. He looked at that smile and felt guilty for something that he didn't know.

Dream wanted to throw it into the ocean, but he still couldn't escape what he had been accepted to do. It was to protect Callahan. That's why you accepted it. Dream told himself. It was to protect him from any danger. But...what does that mean for me? Will Dreamon use me?

"What're you thinking about?" a familiar voice said.

The mask turned into the Dreamon and it floated around Dream. Dream was annoyed by it.

"Why are you here? What do you want?" Dream asked.

"I'm here to check on you. I might be a very powerful being, but that doesn't mean I don't care."

"Just tell me what you need."

"I need a victim. Someone who we can torture together."

"Not Callahan. Leave him out of this."

"I won't use him. I just need someone to get more strength from."

"What do you-"

"After accepting the mask, you will need something to get strength by. You can wait a couple more years, but you will need something to feed off of. I can go possess a couple people, but some of them didn't work out so well."

"What happened?"

"The people will do their best to try and ignore me, but some fail. I get them to hurt people until the people around them decide to have enough. That's when they kill them. Once it is over I release that soul and go on to the next. It's a process."

"I'm your vessel now. You can't hurt any of my friends. If you do I'll-"

"I won't, you will. We are in the same Dream. No matter what you do, some things will happen that won't be from me. Just like all those years ago, when you had blamed me for stuff you had done. Blaming me won't help you in any way."

"I will never hurt the ones I love."

"That is what you had said many times before. Each time you failed."

"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! I'm not like you! I don't want to wish any harm on anyone!"

"Well...I should probably tell you what I came to tell."

"What is it." Dream was very mad at Dreamon.

"There is a way that you won't be able to reincarnate anymore."

"Good, then I don't have to hurt anyone."

"It ain't because if you die, then even I won't be able to bring you back. If you die by the hands of someone you're afraid of, that'll be your last life."

"But I'm not afraid of anyone."

"Oh, I know. I'm just giving you a warning. Dying by their hands can alter with me. It can break me. I won't be strong enough to keep you alive. So just be warned."

"Alright then, will you go away now?"

"If that's what you wish."

Dreamon had turned back in to that mask and it fell into Dream's hands. Dream stared at that mask, thinking about what he had said. I will die at the hands of someone I'm afraid of. Well, that'll never happen because I won't fear anyone. In fact I'll make people fear me. Dream pulled the mask down on his face and a huge grin came across his face. He was excited for this new life to begin.
