The Shadow of the Insect

~Chapter Six~

Mission day was approaching. Neltha picked up the two sisters at the Butterfly Estate and went to their mission together. They had to kill three of the Lower Moon's that were a threat to humanity. The group barely said a word until Kanae broke the silence.

"Ara, why are we so quiet? We should all have a little fun." Shinobu as she is didn't want to talk to the demon. "We're on a mission sister, we should take this seriously." Shinobu said annoyed. Neltha, in turn, was ready for anything. He was focused and didn't allow himself to be distracted. Kanae still didn't want to let go and continued to annoy. "Nee, Neltha. Say. Do you have a family too?" and bit her lower lip. "I know most of the Demon Slayer Corps don't have families. Why did I asked?" Shinobu choked and intervened. "Sister! Stop it. You can see that he won't answer!" Neither of them expected a reply from Neltha. "I... I had an older brother." Shinobu looked angrily at her sister. Kanae regretted asking him. "I'm sorry I asked." Neltha smiled a little for the first time and patted her head. "Don't worry, it's been years." Kanae turned slightly pink around the nose. Shinobu looked at her hands. "So, this guy had a family. That information could help me."

Kanae took courage again and talked about how they came to the Demon Slayers after the brutal death of their parents and how Himejima saved them in the last second. You couldn't tell by looking at Neltha, but he was listening to her the whole time. Shinobu, on the other hand, thought he wasn't listening.

Suddenly out of nowhere Kanae and Neltha stopped with their hand on the sword and looked around seriously. The younger sister no longer understood the world. "Shinobu stand by. They are here." Shinobu, at the instruction of her older sister drew her sword, which is not a typical sword but rather like a sting of a poisonous insect.

"Kukuku, do I see our meal for today?" said the disgusting demon with pale blue skin. "Kakakaka, you are right brother." "Kikikiki, I want to eat the older girl. You can have the guy and the kid." he licked his lips. Shinobu got angry, "Try it!"

The three brother demons ran towards the Slayers. Shinobu didn't expect the three to be that fast. Fortunately, Neltha and Kanae were there to block the first attack. Neltha blocked two and the sister blocked one. Veins formed on Shadow Hashira's forehead. When the two brothers looked him straight in the eye, they withdrew. "Brother did you see that?" "Yes, I have. That is not a norm -..." The demon could not finish his sentence as his head was separated from his body. The demon's head rolled to the ground at Neltha's feet. "What has just passed? I'm dying now? I won't all -..." Neltha smashed the demon's skull with his foot without letting him finish. The shadow looked at its next victim with glowing eyes, "You are next." he said in a cold voice and pointed with his finger at him.

Kanae and Shinobu fought the other demon. The Demon paid attention to the moment his brother was killed, the sister's took the advantage and they sent him flying. He had to get up and wiped the blood from his face. "You will regret what you did to my brother." Too bad that the older demon now noticed that the two are Hashira's. "BROTHER WATCH OUT THEY ARE HASHIRA !!" he tried to warn his little brother when he was killed by Kanae. "Flower Breathing: Fourth Form: Crimson Hanagoromo!" she cried out and killed him with one blow. Shinobu just stood next to her and could hardly move. "So, these are Lower Moons..." if she were alone, she would have no chance against them. She felt weak.

Neltha was getting closer and closer to his next victim. When he then pauses. He turned around startled and sprinted towards Kanae. She didn't know what was going on and why he was sprinting towards her direction. Shinobu turned and saw the figure standing behind her. It was a large demon with rainbow eyes and a blob of blood like hair. She looked him in the eye and read out "Upper Moon 2?"

The demon raised his arm and tried to attack Kanae. The Shadow arrived just in time and blocked the powerful attack with his sword. The ground they were on broke when the blow hit. Kanae and Shinobu felt the pressure wave at close range and flew a few meters. "Hahahaha, I didn't even know that such a strong guy was hanging around here. You're a thorn in my eyes, I don't go with men." Neltha was unimpressed, "Well, me either, but you won't get rid of me so easily."
