The Shadow of the Insect

~Chapter Two~

Shinobu was frozen. She couldn't let go of his eyes, they showed how cold his manner was and how dangerous. But she couldn't make out one thing...she sees great sadness there. It was only a moment, but it felt like hours. Neltha just got up and went to Ojakata's room. Shinobu didn't like that at all. "Hey you there! What do you think of not helping a lady up?" says the little one with an annoyed voice. The shadow paid her no attention and is focused on its way. Kanae tried desperately to calm Shinobu down. She continued to mob and then hit a nerve. "Somebody like you can't save people's lives!" He stopped for moment. You could feel is his blood lust. The next moment he was approaching Shinobu at such a speed and stood in front of her again. He pulled his sword out of its scabbard and wanted to give her a blow. Shinobu saw her life pass her eyes...but nothing happened.
Kanae jumped between Neltha and Shinobu and begged him not to do anything to her. She knows how brutal the man can be, but would he really kill a member? She didn't want to find an answer to that and didn't want to risk it. "Have a little consideration for my stupid little sister. She is still young and does not yet know what she is saying." The little butterfly girl was in shock that she would be dead right now if her sister hadn't intervened. She was trembling all over. She stuttered and said "I'm really sorry." The older butterfly sister took the younger one in her arms, she was almost crying.
Neltha looked down at them with arrogance and power and said "We don't need weaklings like you in this unit. You would only be a burden for the rest of the members. You won't get very far with such a weak body." She couldn't look him in the eye when he spoke to her. She knew she was weak but hearing that from a Hashira again hurt even more. The reality hit her again. Shinobu trained hard every day to be part of the unit and to support her sister. She was no longer afraid of demons, but someone like him gave her such a fear of death. Now she really knows what else she must learn in order to become even stronger. Himejima then got in the way and wanted to talk to Neltha that his action was not following the rules. But he knows himself that he is a rather stubborn and does not allow himself to be talked to, instead he introduced Kanae to him. "Neltha, this is Kanae Kochou, the Flower Hashira. I hope you give her and her little sister a warm welcome." Kanae greeted him with a soft smile even though he almost killed her little sister. "I don't care who comes and goes, you are all too weak. Keep an eye on the little one before she tries something stupid." Shinobu didn't fail to hear that, her blood was boiling with anger and wanted to have another discussion with the guy.
Suddenly Oyakata interrupted the conversation before it degenerated again. "My children, have you finished welcoming now? You can now go again. I ask Neltha and Kanae to stay here a little longer, I have to discuss something with you." Both knelt and answered. The rest of the Hashira said goodby and went their way. The only ones standing there were Himejima and Shinobu. Shinobu took another deep breath to finally calm down and asked him. "What do you think the three are discussing in the room?" He looked at her direction and spoke. "Unfortunately, I don't know, maybe the incident from just now or a new mission." Shinobu puffed her cheeks and said, "I don't want her on a mission with him, he's dangerous." One could only hear a slight laugh from the gentle giant. Let's just wait for your sister, she'll tell us about it. After a while, the two came out of the house, they said goodbye to. Kanae stopped again and said goodbye to the shadow. "Bye Neltha, I hope to have a good cooperation with you." who in turn said nothing and looked over at the three of them. When he heard this, he disappeared. The little butterfly looked at her sister and asked, "Have you been assigned to a mission with him?" She just laughed sweetly and said, "No, not just one Mission. Ojakata put us in a team." Shinobu choked heavily and almost died. "Are you alright?" said the big man. She looked up at her with concern. "Are you really on a team with the demon? I can't allow that!" Kanae just giggled and said with a soft voice, "It's okay, he's only human, I think you just have to get to know him a little better. Everyone has a soft side, even him. So, I ask you not to call him a demon anymore." Shinobu just looked sadly to the floor and said, "I got it."
The Rock Hashira pulled a small smile and just thought how grown up the two have become. "Let's have something to eat, I know a good restaurant." said the giant. Both girls jumped and were overjoyed to go out to eat.

He thought it could stay that way forever...
