ALL OF THE TEAM are sat around a table in the station, most feeling guilt over the secret-keeping, but no one more than Spencer.
Just in time to break the silence, Derek's phone begins to ring, and he places it on the centre of the table on speaker for everyone to hear.
"Is she there yet?"
A few confused glances are shared between the team before JJ decides to speak up, "Is who where yet?"
Garcia hesitates, "Y/n, she said she was on her way to the station like half an hour ago. She should be there by now...Where is she?"
"Just calm down, baby girl," Derek assures, although alarms are already going off in all of their heads, "When did you last speak to her?"
"When she got in her car, I haven't heard from her since...Oh God..."
"What is it, Garcia?" Hotch inquires.
There is silence over the phone as Penelope gains her confidence, "I just tracked Y/n's phone, it says she's just off of a main road close to the station."
"My guess is she isn't." Hotch says, "Let's go."
On command, everyone rises from their seats and follows Hotch out to the SUV's.
"Sir wait I need to-"
"It can wait." Hotch answers, ending the call in a hurry to find you.
Spencer has been quiet, he has been silently trying to reassure himself that it isn't his fault. But if he had just offered to come with, maybe you wouldn't be alone. But then again, would your stubbornness have even allowed it? Probably not, but he won't stop telling himself he should've tried.
Both cars head in the location Garcia has sent to their phones, and they pull to a halt at the site of the collision.
The team members step out, seeing the scattered rubble all over the road, and trampled bushes at the side. There are skid marks showing a car has turned or been run off the road, and that causes an uneasy feeling to settle in the pits of their stomachs.
Spencer doesn't hesitate before running into where the car has evidently gone, cautiously making his way through the trampled bushes. Just as suspected, yet definitely not wanted, the SUV you had been driving is crashed into a tree, smoke still coming from the engine.
The rest of the team has followed him by now, and none of them can even say a word before he dashes to the driver's side door, pulling it open and expecting you inside, except you aren't. In fact, you're many miles away, but none the wiser to them.
"She isn't here." Spencer states, slamming the door, and as he does a glint of red on the window catches his attention. He leans in closer and Emily saunters up to his side, trying to see what he is looking at.
"Are those words?" She asks curiously.
"More like random letters...'D Cora'," he reads from the window, and the thickness and colour of the liquid proves it's written in blood.
"What the hell does that mean?"
After a few moments of wracking his brain, Reid sighs in defeat, "I have no idea."
As Hotch begins pacing with his phone to his ear, his loud voice is to be heard. He brings the phone down and puts it on speaker, Garcia's voice beginning to explain what she knows, "Y/n found something out and I'm pretty sure that's why...you know."
"Garcia, what did she find out?" JJ asks urgently.
Penelope begins to explain everything in great detail, not wasting a single fact that could help find you. As soon as Detective Corales' name is mentioned, Spencer perks his head and furrows his brows before turning back to the window where you had attempted to write something.
"D Cora...Detective Corales!" He exclaims in triumph before his voice lowers, "She was trying to warn us about Corales..."
"Clever bitch..." Emily smirks before her serious face returns, "Garcia, is there any way to find out where she went from here?"
The silence on the other end of the phone is enough of a no for Emily, who turns her head just in time to see Spencer leaving the crash site and sauntering back to the cars. Morgan follows him, reaching him just before he could open the car door.
"What's wrong, kid?" He asks with a pat to his back.
Spencer shoves him off and retreats a step, "What's wrong? She's missing, Morgan. And it doesn't take my IQ to know who has her."
"We don't know that for sure. For all we know, she crashed the car and went to find help. Just calm down, alright?"
Reid shakes his head, "Until I know that she just went to get help, I won't stop looking for her."
"None of us will, kid," Morgan assures, "Garcia can't function without her hotness and you can function with your lovebird."
"My what?"
Derek laughs and shakes his head, wrapping an arm around Spencer and bringing him close to his body, whispering in his ear, "We'll find her."
Spencer nods as he pulls away, merely acknowledging his words instead of believing them.
The pair head back to the rest of the group who seem to be sat on a fallen tree trunk whereas Hotch still paces around the leafy forest floor. Spencer strolls over to him as Morgan sits next to Rossi, shaking his head.
"That kid has a genius IQ and was confused when I called Y/l/n his lovebird." He jokes.
"Wow, do they really not know?" JJ smiles.
Emily upturns the corner of her lips into a smile that doesn't completely meet her eyes, "They're the worst profilers I've ever seen."
There are a few hums of agreement before Spencer rushes back at to the cars, not stopping to say a single word. Hotch is putting his phone away as he heads over to the group.
"We have a location, Garcia managed to track Corales' phone."
The team jump up as quickly as possible, all in a rush to get to the SUV's and for some of them, take back the only family they know.
