chapter 5🥲

as soon as you woke up you started packing a weeks worth of clothes. you emailed your professor explaining that you would be missing a week or more of class.
you didn't change, or brush your hair, or shower, you just left.

you threw your bag over your shoulder and went downstairs, you grabbed your keys and started to leave.
"y/n where are you going" you heard karl say tiredly, he was still on the couch.
"i don"t know yet." you said, you walked out the door and didn't even look back.

as you were sitting in your jeep, driving to an unknown place, your phone started buzzing. you looked over to see "karl <3" was calling.

you ignored. you kept driving. and your phone kept buzzing.

karl<3: 8:47-where are you
8:50- answer me y/n
8:56- i get you want space but at least let me know your safe
*3 missed calls from karl<3*
9:01- please answer

you kept ignoring, a tear slipping down your cheek. next thing you know you were in Virginia. you had been driving for 3 hours and didn't even realize. after many missed calls and text from karl you responded,
i am in virginia, leave me alone i need space to think; it read. you saw that he was typing almost immediately, "okay be safe, come back soon" it read. another tear made its way down your cheek.

you got out of your car at a gas station to pick up some things. you looked around the small shop before leaving with a charger, since you had forgotten yours, a few monsters and a few necessary hygiene products.
after leaving the gas station you made your way to the only person you knew who lived in Virginia. your brother. you thought to call him before just showing up at your house, so you scrolled down your contacts until you saw "evan🖕"

it took a few rings but eventually he picked up,
"the fuck you want y/n" he said
"im coming over"
"why what happened, wait don't you live in like north Carolina what are you doing in Virginia?" he put down whatever he was eating to listen
"you know my roommate Karl?"
"oh yeah i know him"
"i will tell you when i get there, be there in 20"
with that you hung up and continued driving, 15 minutes later you pulled into his driveway.
you walked in without knocking, it was kind of a mess but you expected it.

you told him everything that happened and he simply responded with "sucks to suck i guess, wanna go get food?" you agreed and you both went to some random fast food place. Evan agreed to let you stay at his for the week or until you felt like going back, you decided it was only right to tell karl your plans

you: im staying with my brother for the week, will let u know when im omw back"

he responded immediately and said that alex was staying at theirs for the week aswell.

time skip cuz ion feel like writing a whole weeks worth of boring

it was saturday, and you were packing your things to leave, you gave your brother a quick goodbye and left out the door.

you: on my way home. we can talk about what happened then

Karl responded with a simple "okay be safe" you got in your car and turned on the radio. mr loverman was playing, you drove home listening to silent music.

---3 hours later

you pulled into your driveway, you didnt bother to grab your things, you would get them later. you walked to the door and unlocked it. you walked in to see karl dozing off on the couch. he looked tired

"when was the last time you slept?" you said, he jerked awake
"i dont remember, im glad your home" he was clearly sad
"sorry for leaving out the door just like that, i needed time to think." you sat on the couch next to him
"so, care to explain why you left me on the side of the road, while i was drunk" you said
