Chapter 1

The sun was just peaking through the shades when i heard my dad yell for me. "Y/n lets go we need to be at the hospital in 45 minutes!" "Coming dad," I yell. I picked up my phone to quickly snap Konner good morning and to tell him to have a good day. I then got up and picked out my outfit for the day. It was surprisingly not raining today in Seattle but still a little chilly so, i decided on a ripped pair of jeans, a blue cropped long sleeve shirt, and my air forces. After quickly getting ready and throwing my hair into a quick braid, I grabbed my phone and started down the stairs. 

"Look who finally rolled out of bed. Can you help me get Zola and Bailey ready, while your dad gets Ellis dressed?," my mom said. "Yes sure," I respond back. While getting them ready I asked my mom is she had any cool surgeries I could watch today. "Well I do have..." Before she could finish her phone went off with a page. There was a multi car pile up and both her and my dad were getting paged to get to the hospital immediately. "Derek finish up with Ellis. Multi car pile up and we are getting paged," she yelled. We all then quickly ran out the door to start driving to the hospital. 

*IN THE CAR*

"Do we know what happened," I asked. No one answered me so I assumed that they were thinking about something else. When we arrived at the hospital there were swarms and swarms of people. "Y/n can you take your brother and sisters down to day care and then maybe go meet Arizona up in peds or something." "Sure, dad sounds good. Go save lives!" They both gave my a smile and zoomed out the car. I got Zola, Bailey, and Ellis down to the daycare when I got a snap from Konner. 

*Snap*

Konner- hey good morning😘. wanna go see a movie tonight?!

me- yea sure, sounds like fun! can you pick me up at the hospital at 6:00?

Konner- yea ofc! luv you have a great day!❤️

me: luv you too!! ❤️

After snapping for about 5 minutes I started to head up to peds to see Arizona. When I finally made it to the peds floor I couldn't find Arizona so, I asked one of the nurses. The nurse said she was doing rounds in room 2045 if I wanted to go join her. I said thank you and started for the room. Just as I got there I spotted her walking out of the patient room, with a big smile on her face. "Hey y/n! Whats going on." "Nothing much. My parents were paged to the pit for some big pile up so they told me to go hang with you." "Well lucky for you I have a pretty free day. Wanna help me set little Parker Kent up for dialysis," she asked. "Sure," I responded. While setting up Parker for dialysis we pretty much just talked about things like school and different surgeries, Arizona had done earlier that week. After he was all set up, I started to get hungry for some breakfast so I told Arizona I was going down to the cafeteria, if she wanted to come. She said yes so we decided to go down and get some food. 

*time jump about an hour*

When I was throwing my trash away Arizona was getting a page to the pit. "Y/n they need me in the pit. Are you going to be ok?" "Yea, I think I'll go see if my dad or mom has a surgery I can watch." She nodded in agreement and left the cafeteria. While I was walking down to the OR floor, to look at the OR board I saw my dad getting his scrub cap on. "Hey dad what do you have?" "Oh hey sweetheart, just a small bleed I need to go in and fix," he said happy to see me. "Can I watch," I asked with a sweet voice. "Yes of course, how could I say no. Have you seen your mom though," he asks looking worried. "No I haven't. She is probably just treating someone in the pit," I reassure him. "Yea, your right," he responds. We then part ways while I go up to the gallery and he goes to scrub. 

About 3 hours into the surgery I start to get bored because they just started to close, brought excitement. I decided to just wait it out until the end because it was only going to take about 20 more minutes. After closing I heard my dad say something over the intercom. "Y/n meet me outside the scrub room." I gave him a thumbs up and made my way down there. "That was a great surgery dad," I say half lying. "It was boring, stop lying!" We both then started laughing when he got a page to the pit. "Hey I got a consult wanna tag along and learn something?" "Yea sure sounds good. By the way I am going to movies with Konner at 6:00, he is going to pick me up." "Ok, I work late but your mom can drive you guys home." We finish our conversation about the movies, on our way to the pit. While entering the pit I noticed a lot of commotion toward exam room one. I looked at my dad with a worried face on. "I hope everything is ok," I say nervously. "Me too," he responds back. Just as we are getting over to get a tablet a nurse comes over and says, "Dr. Shepherd, its your wife....."
