chapter 19

After he shuts the door, I stand up, knowing exactly who I want to see.

"where are you going?" Ein asked, looking up at me.

"i'm going to visit my brother, you can come if you want."

"no...i wouldnt be wanted there. plus, it's kind of a private thing."

"right...sorry."

"dont be, its ok. but if you really want to see your brother, then you're going to want to take these."

Ein stands up and winces at an injury he must have gotten from michael, and walks over to the wooden desk near the back wall and opens one of the many drawers and fishes for soemthing. he must have gotten what he wanted, because he stopped looking through the drawer and took out a ring full of keys."

"oh, right, the whole journey would have been pointless if i couldnt get into his cell." i chuckled as Ein handed over the ring.

"yeah, exactly" he also chuckles, "and, remember, if you hear michael coming, you need to leave and lock the cell immediately."

"right."

"and the code to exit and enter the door is 17436, remember that, ok?"

"i will, thank you so much for this, Ein."

"no problem, have fun, ok?" he smiles and pats me on the shoulder, and goes to sit down in his spot and winces again as he sinks down to the floor.

i unlock the door by spinning the metal wheel clockwise until i hear a *click* and swing the heavy door open, which doesnt make a sound.

i close the door and hear it automatically unlock, i take the ring of keys out of my pocket and go to find garroth and laurance again, the keys make a small jingle sound with every step.

on the way to my brother, i see all of my friends who do a double take when they each see me, i have to expalin to each of them that i dont have a lot of time and cant stay because i need to see garroth and tell him im ok. Kawaii~chan is the most dissapointed that i cant stay, half because she said she misses me, and half because of her cell mates, who both make innapropiate jokes and laugh wheezily each time.

after about 4 minutes of apologizing to everyone that i cant visit, i finally reach Garroth's cell, i look inside and see the him and Laurence both asleep and leaning on the wall directly across form the cell wall, they're both cuddled close to eachother, one occasionaly trying to get closer to eachother and, after seeing they cant, let out a huff and continue to cuddle.

come to think of it, the two of them have been really close lately, ever since we got back from the lodge they either are seen really close to eachother without realizing and thinking it's perfectly normal for friends to be that close, or far away from eachother and too embarrased to do or say anything to eachother, but occasionally sneaking glances at the other person and catching ecahother's eye and looking away, blushing.

realizing that i've wasted a good minute staring at the two "good friends" in the jail cell, i unlock the squeaky door and close it again, leaving it unlocked. now that im up close to the two of them, i can see that they're holding hands, their arms are resting on their own knees that are folded up close to their chests, they almost look like a couple.

"ahem" i clear my throat, attempting to wake them up without actually touching them.

"AHEM" i try again, this time it works, Laurence slowly lifts his head up from garroth's shoulder and from under garroth's head, which was resting on his own. once Laurence blinks a couple times, he looks up at me and yelps, waking up garroth, they both panic at being seen sleeping together and try to get as far away from eachother as possible.
