Chapter 25

Italics - flashback

Sylvanna's POV

My plane had just landed at Starlight, I was one of the first people off of the plane, I didn't bother apologizing for all the people I bumped into, that was the least of my worries.

One thing different about Starlight's plane system is that there's no official airport, so when our plane landed by the boat docks, I saw the baggage claim not so far away, instead of our luggage being on a conveyer belt, they were placed on top of a counter that was being watched by a few guards.

It didn't take long to find my bag, after I found it I decided to start off in the main plaza and ask if anyone has seen Aphmau, I had a picture of the two of us folded in my jeans pocket, it was a picture I wanted to take before she went up to the lodge for the winter.

Oh how much has changed...

Nevermind that, I need to push that aside and find my daughter.

Once I got to the main plaza, I looked around at the many stores and booths, there were thousands of people here, where do I start...

A supermarketcatches my eye with its glowing red sign, i guess i'll start here...

Once i got inside I was immeditaly hit with the smell of fresh produce, breathing it in helped calm my nerves as I closed my eyes, taking a few deep breaths to keep me levek.

Once I opened my eyes, I started to feel the sinking feeling again, there has to be more than 10,000 people on this island alone, I don't know if i'll be able to find her...

Come on Sylvanna, there's no time for that thought. Put yourself together, for Aph's sake.

I guess i'll start off at the check out aisles...

But on my way to the cashiers, I heard a very familiar voice...

"I'm serious Garte, I have a really bad feeling! Now Garroth or Vylad aren't answering our calls!"

"Oh come on honey, you know how teenagers are..."

"They're not teenagers anymore Garte, they're 20."

"Same thing Zianna, they're still so young, at that age it's natural to want some seperation from your parents."

"I guess you're right..."

I couldn't believe my ears.

I saw the couple round the corner, hands intertwined and each carrying a basket of groceries.

"ZIANNA!?" I shouted

"SYLVANNA?!"

"EEEEE" we both screamed as we embraced, Zianna's dropped basket almost crashed to the ground before Garte could catch it.

"Honey! You have to be more careful!"

"I'm sorry dear, but i wasn't expecting Sylvanna to be here!"
