Chapter 13-Surprises

"Can you please tell me where we are going?" I asked Drew for the 10th time. I really don't like surprises. What if I didn't dress correctly? What if I hate it?

"No Parker, I will not tell you where we are going. I promise you will enjoy it" Drew said.

I huffed. This is so not fair. I turned up the radio and watched the scenery go by so the time will go faster.

10 minutes later we are still not there and we are going farther and farther into the country side. I'm getting scared.

"You aren't planning on killing me out here are you?" I asked Drew kinda kidding. I hope he doesn't kill me, or my brothers would kill him.

He laughed and grabbed my hand intertwining out fingers. "I promise I won't kill you, actually we are here." He said pulling into a long dirt road.

"This is it?" I asked him confused. "I don't see anything."

"Just wait" he told me.

We kept driving down the dirt road, the sun was just setting and it was getting darker out. We drove over the hill and that's when I saw it.

It's a strawberry field. I have to say that I will enjoy this. Strawberries are my favorite fruit, probably my favorite food too. My mom and I ate them together all the time.

"Omg, this is amazing" I said. "It's so beautiful here too as the sun is setting"

He laughed "that's what I was going for" he said.

As soon as he parked the car I ran out
towards the field. I was to excited to wait. I started picking the strawberries, but decided against eating them now. They might be dirty.

Drew walked up next to me handing me a basket "someone is excited." He said. "You couldn't even wait for me?" He pouted.

"I'm sorry" i said giving him a quick kiss.

He smiled "you are forgiven"

We started picking strawberries together and talking about our favorite foods.

"How did you even find this place" I asked him.

" I know a guy" he said. "He owed me a favor, and I thought this would be a great place to take you" he laughed.

"It's your favorite food, and you love to eat. I think it was one of my best ideas" he said proudly.

"I think it was too" I said.

We continued to pick, but it got dark fast so we went to go clean the strawberries that we had.

After they were cleaned Drew grabbed a blanket out of the car and placed it under the tall oak tree for us to sit.

I started digging into the strawberries. "How are they?" Drew asked as he watched me eat.

"Amazing" I said moaning.

"It gets even better" he said. "I brought some chocolate to dip them in"

He is a keeper. This couldn't get any better.

It was so relaxing here, sitting down and listening to the breeze flow through the trees. I suddenly began to get tired. I yawned and Drew pulled me close to him.

"You can sleep" he whispered in my ear.

Not even a minute later I was knocked out.

I don't know how long I was out for but I slowly began to wake up and I can feel movement. We must be in the car.

I was about to open my eyes when Drew's phone started to ring. I kept my eyes close and decided to listen instead.

I'm not one of those crazy stalker girlfriends, I'm just curious to see who is calling him so late. It's probably just one of my brothers calling to check up.

"What news do you have for me Brian?" Drew whispered trying not to wake me. Who is Brian?

"Just do whatever you have to do, make sure they don't die" he said. "I'm counting on you" he said.

"Call me when you have more information" he said and the hung up.

I wonder what secrets he is hiding. Could it be about his parents?

Maybe I should ask the triplets about it, but I should really wait for him to tell me. I just don't want to see him get hurt.

The smooth rhythm of car moving sent me back into a deep sleep.

I woke up the next morning in my bed.

I had the day off today, and I planned to do some shopping. I looked over at my clock and it was 9 o'clock so I got up and got ready for the day.

As I was about the leave the house Finn stopped me.

"Hey can we talk for a second" he asked me.

"Yeah sure, what's up?" I asked him.

"Well you see, the triplets wanted me to talk to you for them. They think you are angry at then so they sent me" he said.

I wasn't angry at them I was just upset. "What did they want?" I asked him.

"They just want you to know that, Drew has some history and they are just looking out for you. They only have good intensions." He said giving me his golden smile.

"They just want you to be careful that's all" he said. "If you ever need me, you know I'm here for you" he gave me a hug.

"I love you Finn, but I'm already being careful. I know he has a past, I don't know what happened but I do know that he is a great person and he is great to me and I won't judge him for his past" I told Finn.

He nodded, understanding. "Tell the triplets that I'm not upset with them anymore, and we will hug it out when I get back from the store" I told him.

He laughed "I will do that, I'm sure they will be excited."

I got into my car and sat there for a minute.

What is Drew's secret? Could it really be that bad?
